I started my Book of Shadows just recently. (: There's not much, but I've written a short version of the Rede and the Witches' Rune, information about the sabbats and the elements, and the results of some of the things I've done. It's very informal.

I need to start my book of shadows soon, I've tried two circles but I can't light a candle in my house so this is a 'FAIL' I'll light a fire on the beach and make a circle there next time I go to the coast to visit my mom.

Some more questions to bombard you guys with ( ). Firstly, how do you make a circle? How many candles should you light once the circle is made? And last question for the day (I promise XD), what kid of oils do you need? Thanks again.

It all varies. Different castings call for different measures-- such a circle size, the herbs and oils needed, and the number and color of candles needed.

The color and numbers of the candles basically goes by what type of Spell you are trying to do, I believe.

The whole candle thing isn't what I work on with my sister. She is the candle person, I mostly work on other things. Mostly blessings and herbal things. Trying to communicate with others through the mind. Which I have only managed to do with my sister's cat.

What do you guys use for a ritual altar? I can't really set up a permenant one for another seven months or so, but I would like to have something for rituals that I can set up on a needed basis. I'm thinking about using a typewriter case, but that seems sort of disrepectful, not to mention I'm worried about it's sturdiness. Opinions?

I don't really have one. Whenever I use incense I first put it on my shelving next to a unicorn statuette, then once I've finished meditating I move it to a shelf above the top of my bed. Otherwise, I do it on the floor of my room.
