"That's a great job, Sam. Now there are actually four berries that look similar to this one. One is not poisonous at all, it is actually quite tasty and is good for you. It helps with colds and other medical illness's. It can have anywhere from six to seventeen seeds. If it has seven seeds a legend says you will have great luck! You may be wondering why I know all this, and I'm not a healer. Your mother should know this, the alpha knows it, and most or all hunters and warriors know it. It is basic knowledge, and now before you ever eat or let someone else eat a berry like this, I want you to count the seeds, promise?" Hawthorne explained the berries to Sam and nuzzled him softly. "Now run a long and tell Quinn."

Hawthorne chuckled, "Most pups do like me, I guess it's because I don't yell at them. I supposed Sam should have learned the old berry lesson by now, I hope you don't mind I taught him."
Hawthorne was a pup again, next to him was his white furred friend. "Come on, I dare yah!" Hawthorne said sticking his tongue out. "Your a chicken." The white wolf puffed out his chest and started walking along the straight and narrow board across the river. "You can do it Zant!" Hawthorne called. Suddenly Zant slipped and fell into the water howling. "I can't swim, help me Finn!" Hawthorne jumped into the water to save his best friend, but instead he was swept away by the river. They were both howling for help.
Hawthorne shook his head out of the memory.
