I know that about the toes, but they're not all showing x3
And thanks laelia, the back legs were really annoying because nothing looked right. ono

laelia- Thank you! I'll try to fix them up, thanks! I'm too used to drawing wolves, heh. Thank you for the critique ^^ For the drawings you posted, on the first the front legs look a little thin, either that or the body is too big. The ear is a little odd too, but they're both really pretty pieces <3 Love the clean lineart you have there.

I shouldn't have used texturing here. It ruins it me thinks. I would like redlines,or critique on this though, nothing about the feet though,I was lazy. And the tail is super fluffy and omgdesu so obviously it requires no need to touch the floor. right.
also here have a weird pose

@ August ; A fox and a ferret you say? Well first off on the fox, back legs don't bend that way,so I say fix those up if you know how to. It's too bulky for a fox as well. Foxes are very slender animals, and the muzzle is too dog like. It's not narrow enough. see here. See? It's much more aerodynamic then a wolf or dog.
The ferret needs a thin muzzle,a more whip like tail, and for it to be a tad bit longer,as they are very lanky and have a curved spine.see how much the spine bunches up here? These animals don't look very much like wolves,so study your anatomy good before whisking them out like wolves or dogs. Except foxes, those have about the same anatomy but it's much...odder? Also, ferrets have short little plantigrade feet. c:

@Tikeria ; I think it looks like a great photo but I suggest lowering the saturation down in photoshop or another program, especially because it's a graveyard scene.~ Love the photos though, mostly only drawings are posted here it seems.

@Medusa ; FFft-,Why did you change your name. //wants to call you Moony still 8u
One thing I see is that the knee area is really bunched up. And the feet turn in a bit awkwardly. I can't really explain it so have a reference that seems pretty close unless you want an actual redline. x The front arms looks really great though, and the rest pretty much! c: Love the expression. It's adorable.

How did you do those stars in the first one, by the way? ouo

@Aguust ; Haha, yeah. Thin front legs have been driving me BATTY lately. I'm trying to work on it. c: Thank you for pointing it out! c: I was going for a doberman look on the ears so I'm not sure about how they look really. |D<3

@Meduas ; I used a crop shape tool in photoshop elements 8. c: The shape,or cookie cutter tool should have them somewhere. Then in Sai I selected the whole thing, made it increment out a tad, like twice and filled it with the darker color underneath. It's really easy to use for background when you don't feel up to anything. There's like 20-30 different ones on my version.

Too lazy to critique both, but here's a redline for the one--

Image

What I can see first thing looking at this is that the wolf is very short, chubby, and movement is not fully carried through her movements. The body should be much longer, and slightly less thick. The legs could also definitely be longer, with more defined joints.
When you draw a character in midair, unless you want them to specifically look like they're being held up by some strange magic and flailing, the legs--every aspect of the body, really-- need to fully carry out movement. Longer legs, tails and ears thrown back, and the legs positioned in a way that helps to convey movement. With having that one leg forward, it sort of cuts off the idea of movement, so throwing it backwards makes a much nicer flow. Positioning the other limbs at longer extremes also gives the same effect.

I assumed that this was a wolf for this, so with a wolf the snout should be much slimmer, and the nose smaller as well. Keep in mind that the lower jaw needs to be a bit square to accommodate teeth, and that the lower fangs are slightly in FRONT of the top, with about four in between I believe in a straight row with little spacing.

Keep practicing, and don't forget to reference! C:
The shading on it looks great, btw. You seem to have a very nice grasp on your light source.

Please note, redlines are only to be used as a reference, and should not be traced nor eyeballed heavily.

@August: I think the reason you're feeling iffy about the fox is you're having a similar problem to me, which is having your head tell you "it's a canine, draw it like you would any generic canine." Foxes are pretty different and distinct, though.
fox dog wolf
I got these in a minute or two, but maybe by comparing them you can see what I mean? The fox's face is especially different in that he's got a small, pointy snout with comparably big ears. Fox bodies are more... fine I guess is the word I'm going for?
I'm going big picture here because I'm not a real big canine artist. However I do share an issue in making my canines easily identifiable, so I think sticking to things that instantly say "fox" may not be a bad idea.

Gonna do a stream of two species a friend made on Deviantart. I'm trying to help get the species out so we're doing adoptables, of course I'd rather not use her lines so I'm trying to make my own. Any help or crits while I stream would help out. If you want to critique though, please read what the species are;
Sithyres
Daeckals

My stream is here
