Looks to me like they are suffering from the common BLS, other wise known as broken leg syndrome. I'd say take a look at some canines laying down to get a feel for how the legs work a bit better, the forelegs give the effect of only having a single long bone in it then later a second for the bend. The hips are way out of proportion with the torso for the hind legs to be that big. The muzzle's bottom jaw is awkwardly short, again look at some references, and the head itself is oddly positioned. Giving off that the opposing side the appearance of being larger than the one directed at the viewer.

Hope that helps, if you're interested I could attempt a quick redline for you.

Pastel, please don't act like this. This thread isn't spammy, it simply moves fast and sometimes contains a few smaller posts where people forget to comment on others' work. It happens. Susiron's right, though. You yourself hardly ever comment on other people's work while always posting your own work and livestreams. Just give others a bit of attention too, it's the nice thing to do. I'm not angry with you, if you're wondering, I'm just saying this to help you get more critique and get rid of those "rude" comments you're getting. (:

MAINLY FOR HIND LEGS.

I keep seeing people draw-- and especially redline-- wolf hind legs completely wrong.

Image

The wolf drawing on top was originally a redline for Zoe, but now it's more of a reference. The overall position of the wolf is based on your drawing, Zoe, but I chose to ground the wolf, rather than keeping it in your "floating" status.
I placed the front leg closest to us on the ground, and gave the ankle a nice twist to show movement. Not essential to a pose like this, but I just like doing that sort of thing.
I then grounded both of the hind legs, and stretched the one farther back to make the pose more dynamic.
I also made the body fluffier, longer, and inclined the back.
Assuming yours was a wolf, though, the head doesn't look very wolfish-- more grey hound, or fox. It should be poofier, the ears smaller, and more construction should go into the overall face area, defining the brow, eyes, and snout. The mouth would also show from this angle.

Talking about hind legs again--
They're a bit more difficult than front legs, but not too hard once you get a grasp on them.
I find the one thing people ignore the most is defining the THIGH, and then the dent under the thigh.

If you look at any picture of a wolf-- http://sikaris.deviantart.com/#/d349kow
The thigh sticks out, before their is a dent right before the back of the ankle. The ankle itself then pokes out quite a lot, not even really tapering inward into the metatarsals. In fact, the back of the metatarsal area is nearly STRAIGHT.

On the opposite side, it's a much more gentle slope. The knee area sticks out quite a lot, but quickly slopes inwards, then coming to a stop at the ankle, where it then goes down. I didn't draw the paws really, just to focus on the leg shapes.

So, Zoe, I'd say, define your pose a bit more, but you've got a very good grasp on the legs to begin with.
From what I've seen, your hind legs are more accurate than the couple of redlines that have been given to it.
The pose itself is strange, but the anatomy's definitely on a good track. C:

Susiron, I have to thank you profusely for the awesome little tutorial you threw in there. It was extremely informational. I do admit, I've been lazily drawing, and almost nearly forgetting anatomy.

You're pretty much hot.

I'm gunna redline the original sketch and then see what y'all think. Thanks to all for your critiques!

Can I get some critic on this?
I haven't gotten any comments on the Oekaki it's at, so I just posted it here to get some critic.
It's an entry for a contest. I did everything except the background.

Heya :D

I did a quick redline for you - not the greatest at drawing humans, but I hope this helps. :)

Couple things... the head was too large, or rather the body was too small. I scaled things up a bit, especially the arms. The forearm length (from your elbow to your wrist) is actually the same length as heel to toe. :)

Image

I also made the pose a teeny bit more dynamic - hips and shoulders twisting slightly in opposite directions - so that's what those are. :)

It's looking really great, though - you definitely captured a lot of personality in that character! The colors are also chosen very carefully and it ends up making a wonderfully cohesive picture. I know it might seem like I'm just banging on about your proportions, but that's because it's mainly the only thing you need to obviously work on :) Keep up the great work!!

Which one's better?

Like, overall, which one would you go for? I'm forced to pick one since they're the same guy and the same dude can't have two different bodies. V.2 is more recent.

Yeah, it's oekaki, I know. I still have to pick one. xD

Hm... Well, Im quite fond of the first one... however, I do think you could get away with both, if you said it was his different sides. since the neck pipes connect to the facing side and the far side respectively.

Huh. Never thought of it that way.

I shall have to consider.

@Samurai: The first one says 'cyborg' to me much more than the second. I like the first better for that reason. I think the second could use more robotic parts or something along those lines.
The first is also more memorable as a character in my opinion.

Well, see, he's a robot, not a cyborg. >w> That was my problem. That also decides which design I should go for, thank you~ If V1 makes him look like something he isn't, well, we can't have that, now can we? X3

I added seams in V2's fur to show it was more like a coat than legit skin, but those are really pretty subtle since it's all fluffy faux fur. I'm tempted to add more tubes, but I really shouldn't have any. xD

I could add more warning lights to his body, right now he only has two under the eyes...
