Niko went in behind Farah making sure the Words wouldn't attack them from behind. "Come on out, so I can kill you all," he muttered under his breath. A sudden crackle made him jump, the sound of Dominic's voice made it obvious that it was Re's radio. That didn't make him feel any more at ease though. Now the Words, if there were any here, probably knew that there were intruders in their den. Niko kept his good eye wide open and ready for a fight.

Farah closed her eyes in exasperation when Re's radio crackled to life.
"Damn you, Dominic," she whispered. She opened her eyes again and walked up to the next room slowly. She took a deep breath and walked directly in front of the door. As the whole room came into view, a soft squeak escaped her eyes. She'd found whatever was running through the halls. Then the Word snarled and attacked.
She jumped away from the room and fired and few shots. The Word yelped when she hit it's shoulder, but the other bullets only grazed the creature. Despite it's wound, it didn't slow down. It spread it's wing and leapt into the hall, a blur of motion.
"Watch out!" Farah screamed.

She whispered into her radio and nodded to herself, "I am alright Dominic, just called to investigate... Her voice faded as she dropped her radio and looked surprised when the Word attacked. She took out her pistol and shot it in the wings. She cripled one of its wings for awhile, she knew that wouldn't stop a Word. Something hard hit her back as the Word lunged and tried to reach her gun that was a few inches away.

Niko fired at the Word hitting it in the back, right now he was desperately he had a shot gun or a sub machine gun, hell even an assault rifle would do. Anything seemed better than a pistol right now. The Word turned toward him and snarled, then pounced at him knocking him to the ground, simultaneously disarming him. Niko held back it's snapping jaws with his cybernetic arms. If I could only reach my hunting knife, he thought bashing the beast with one hand while keeping it's jaws from ripping him to pieces with the other.

Farah jumped into action as the Word turned on her team mates. She drew her knife when the Word attacked Niko. She knew if she fired, she risked hitting him. She'd have to do this the hard way. She charged the creature and slashed at it's throat. It spun around as her knife sliced through fur and skin. Blood sprang up from the wound, but the Word didn't seem too bothered. Farah cursed. And kicked the beast in the side as it scrambled away from Niko, trying to get to her. It yelped and jumped away. It snarled viciously at the team and charged again.

Niko jumped up from the floor and grabbed his pistol. Looking at the Word it was definitely much weaker now, taking very heavy breaths and blood flowing heavily from it's wounds. Niko aimed his gun at the beast and fired at it, it's steps beginning to slow. He would have finished it off but his gun produced no sounds but a click. He rolled his eyes annoyed as he slid the magazine out and slammed a new one into the chamber.

She got up, clutching a deep scratch that scored down her arm. She quickly grabbed her dagger and placed a poison dart in it's injector and shot it at the Word. The dart went whizzing by and got caught in the Word's tough fur, burrowing into it's skin. She quickly pulled out a cloth bandage and tied it around her arm. She pulled her coat on, at least it would give some protection from the Word. She staggered a little, the amount of blood lost made her a bit dizzy. She shook her head to get the feeling from her than stood beside her teammates; ready for another attack.

"Nice shot, Re," Farah said, releasing a relieved breath as the Word began to stagger from the poison and collapsed.
"Alright, Niko?" she asked. He looked a little scratched up, but not seriously injured.
She looked over at Re and noticed the gash on her arm before she put her coat on,
"Hey, are you alright?" she asked.
There's probably more around, and if one of us is already injured this fight could be over real fast, she thought.

SHe looked over at Farah and nodded, "Yeah; it just caught me by surprise," The dizzy feeling let her head when she became more serious, "Hopefully there isn't more around here.... If there is, we'll have to bring the whole team just for this. And that means more injured people." SHe couldn't really feel the pain like someone with normal temperture, but being frozen made her nerves a bit dimmed. She felt likesomene was pouring hot water, or a thousand needles to where she had been clawed.

Farah nodded and sighed,
"There are probably more. This could be their den for all we know. It's not exactly abandoned as we just saw," she said, glancing over at the dead Word.
"I'll radio the rest of the team," she said. She pressed the button on her radio, opening the channel to all the team members still back at camp.
"Zaria, Kiere, Lio, Dominic. We need you guys to get down here. We're in the city and we think we've found the Word's den. It's one of the only intact buildings in town. I think it was an office building at one point. Get down here as soon as you can," she said.

Dominic bit his lip as Farah's orders came though on the radio. He'd grown very nervous when Re's radio suddenly went dead. Farah hadn't said anything about anyone being seriously injured though, so that was good.
"Ok, now I just need to get out of this forest," he muttered.
He took a deep breath and tried to retrace his steps. He remembered the trees and rocks and started walking around, looking for those. After a while he made it back to the stream. He breathed a sigh of relief. He found Re's supplies up in a tree and lugged the more important stuff back to camp. He put it in a heap with the rest.
"You guys hear the orders?" he asked, looking at everyone still at camp.
