WILD's? O.o Never really heard of them before. I'm gonna do some googling.
I tend to stare off into space, too. It's kind of a way of planning out the next scene, I suppose. Tends to happen when the coffee and cookies wear off and I fall asleep. I find that I get really awesome dreams when all I've thought about before sleeping is my book. It helps. ^^

WILDS are a form of lucid dreaming - lucid dreaming is where you can control the contents of your dreams and what happens in them.. essentually you're aware you're dreaming within a dream. I can't lucid dream for the life of me, it just doesn't work, i've tried as many different techniques as i can find and they all just.. don't.. work! A WILD is a lucid dream while you're awake (Wake induced lucid dreaming) - sort of like a day dream but far more intense/vivid and you have more control (at least i do :D) I never get awesome book-related dreams D:< its frustrating, cause i'd really like to have some!

I put in a chapter to see what my new minion could come up with, and let me tell you, it was terrible. Now it's moderately polished!

I KNOW! right? :D Though some of their adverbs really aren't adverbs at all.. and they like to mix up their "said" option a lot,(placing it in weird places/with words that shouldn't be substituted for said.. such as "a dog barked in the distance" usually gets a highlight XD) but it really helped me develop my writing style and think about those evil adverbs ¬.¬ after all, it's true that "smiling widely" is sorta implied by the smiling bit :D I've never actually managed to get any of my work labeled as "cliche" though - i wonder what i would have to do for that o.O

I did a bit of googling, but this sheds some more light. It's quite interesting, actually. O.o Though I definitely wouldn't have it in me to be able to get into an intense day dream.

I've never cliqued anything with it either. o3o I might go abuse the minion a little to check it out.

Oh, and yeah. I did notice it could be a little stoopid at times, but human judgement always fixes that up anyway. Still very useful. I've never seen anything like it before. ^^

I tried lucid dreaming last summer and I couldn't do it either. I also tried many techniques, but none worked. I really wish I could learn to, though, it sounds amazing. I used this one app on my iPod that would "talk" to you in your sleep, you just had to set what time and it would say stuff like "You're dreaming." Only problem was that it didn't always work, and when it did it woke me up, scaring me half to death. Imagine waking up in the dead of night to a creepy mechanical voice speaking in your ear. -_-

Y'know, after hearing this, I think I might try it. If it doesn't work (which I'm counting on) then so be it. But if there's the slightest chance of it working, I'm in!:D

Yeah, I think with enough dedication and work you can do it. I don't try anymore cause I'm just too tired by the time night rolls around. Maybe in the summer I'll try again. I also kept a dream journal, and I still write in it every once in a while, but I don't really have time for it anymore. I think dream journals are a good idea though, they're fun to do and it's cool when you go back and read them all.

I like where this is going.

Username:
KevinsLunchbox

What will we call you:
Danny Wilkins (my alias)

What are your goals as an author? (list at least three)
Improve my writing abilities
Come up with new ideas
Make something that people would enjoy reading

Can you give us a sample of your writing? (one paragraph or more)
This is actually from something I'm writing which is about a school shooting from the perspective of the shooters. Please don't take it the wrong way, I just wanted to write something from a perspective that people wouldn't normally write from, I'm not planning anything like this I swear.
“When the bell rings we’ll have about 15 seconds to get in and establish a perimeter before everyone is too spread out.” Terry said over the radio. “Guys wait, I have a bad feeling about this” Stan said on the radio, “Maybe we should rethink our strategy.” Terry called back over the radio, “Stan shut up we’re already here and I said there was no turning back.” Stan replied back, “I know I know, I really want to do this too but honestly, is now the time?” and Bryan radioed in as well, “Its now or never Stan just make sure your ammo is topped off. Adam you ready for this?” “Yeah…. Now or never right?” I called in over the radio. I couldn’t help but sit quietly until we heard the bell ring, feeling nervous I checked my gun again for the 5th time. Its not like my ammo would magically disappear but I just needed something to distract me. I could feel the weight of the P90 in my hands and I felt like I could barely lift it. My hands felt like they weighed 50 pounds each but somehow I still managed to keep a hold of it. My name is Adam Wright and in about 30 minutes I am going to be dead. At least that’s what I told myself but in reality I think I’ve been dead for a long time.

Are you currently working on any books?
No, I write short stories, nothing that would qualify as an actual "book"

Why do you want to join?
I enjoy talking with other writers and reading what they've written.

Do you have published books yet?
Oh god no, I'm not that good.

Do you wish to find a "writing partner"?
Not really

What Role(s):
What?

What's your favorite Genre?
I really enjoy dystopian sci fi books. Also anything involving super human abilities and zombies.

What kind of books do you write?
I write a little bit of everything but my biggest writings include a small story about people with super human abilities and how their abilities lead to their self destruction. I also wrote a short story about a sniper during WW2 who was killed while reminiscing about his wife in her garden.

I've not very patient, but I'll see what happens tonight. ^^ And I used to keep a dream journal until I started my book. Now I just keep an ordinary diary full of odds and ends, ambitions and ideas, etc.

When it comes to Lucid dreaming you want to try keep a nightly dream journal, this is so you can begin to recognize certain aspects of your dreams that a repetative, such as, perhaps a red ball in the corner, or the fact that someone or somethign isn't quite normal. When you begin to recognize them, you begin to see them while your dreaming, and they become an indicator that you're actually asleep and you can do anything! it does take a LOT of practice, and even after about 6 months of trying i still can't do it, not well at least, there is the occasional one... but not really... if you want some tips/tricks on how to do it i can help you out ^_^ feel free to PM me (i'm not quite sure how on-topic this whole thing is X3

I record all my dreams in my daily diary-ing anyway. I tend to have strange dreams about lions, and running... And also about things changing into other things. For example, there might be a bird in my hand. When I look at it next, it's a cheese stick. I had a dream where a mummy turned into King Fu Panda collectable toys. o-o

I suppose it's on topic if it has any reference to writing. x3
