First, my dog isn't allowed on the furniture. So maybe you could just instruct Honey not to sit or climb on the furniture, like we did with our dog. And brush her daily to make sure hair doesn't get all over everything.
Second, for your dad, you should let him meet Honey and see what a good dog she is. And if she doesn't have any other health problems, maybe your family will feel pity for her and want to take her in, no matter what.
I'm sorry thats all the advice I could give. I wish there was more I could do. I hope Honey gets a safe home somehow. :)
