Alizaria felt the cold touch of the rock beanth her slim, warm, figure. Her eyes were closed to the dim light that filtered through the clouds and she felt as if she was falling asleep. She wanted so badly just to let herself fall into a deep sleep. She heard Farahs radio crakle to life, the voice of fellow teammate Niko whispering into his side. Eagle Her mind raced as she thought of his words. Hadn't seen him With those few words a sudden realization came to her mind, it was playing dumb. She wanted to shreek at him but she didn't have her radio with her, Dammit.

Farah unclipped her radio from her belt and listened as Niko relayed his discovery of the eagle. She thought a moment. There were still a few normal eagles left in the world, but with their luck this was one of the larger ones that could carry off the smaller team members in a flash.
Greeeaaatttt... she thought.
"I would take it out just to be safe, Niko. I'll come down to help you. If it decides to attack you're going to want some back up," she said. She checked her hand gun to make sure it was loaded. It wasn't the best thing for taking out eagles, but she knew that Niko had taken a rifle with him when he left.
"How big is it?" she asked, sliding her gun back into it's holster. She looked back at the team.
"Be right back guys. Don't do anything stupid and call me if something shows up," she said.

"Mind if I come with you?" Dominic asked, "I could use something to do."
He gave his rock another toss. He wasn't the best at hunting, but he would do anything to get out of the monotony of throwing this rock up in the air and catching it.

She smiled and nodded slinging her bow on her back, "Sure. What do you hunt with?" She questioned him as she picked up her arrows, she preferred arrows more than bullets, one because it is silent and two because it doesn't poison the meat with gunpowder. She looked back at Dominic once more, "I think we should hunt by stream, there should be a lot of prey if they are thirsty."

"Um...I don't really hunt much. I just need something to do," Dominic said, slightly embarrassed. Before the apocalypse his dad had promised to take him hunting when he turned 16. Of course that never happened. In his time at the lab, though, he'd learned how to use guns and other weapons. He was alright at it, but not the best. He suspected the only reason he'd been put on the team was because they didn't have another use for him.
He figured he was kinda worthless unless they needed to burn away doors or locks or anything that needed to be destroyed. But even so, at least he was here feeling somewhat like he had a purpose. It would have been worse at the lab, he was sure.
He nodded when Re said they should try the stream.
"Makes sense to me. Lead on," he said.
He walked up next to her. He always felt like such a shrimp next to Re since she stood a full six inches taller than him. Not to mention she was three years older. Maybe more. It was slightly intimidating.

"Pretty normal by heavily mutated freak of nature standards" he said. Niko grinned, readying his rifle, finally he got to kill something. Through the scope he could see the eagle's perch he could get a perfectly good shot in if only he had something to shoot at. "Oh crap," Niko muttered as he came to the realization he was the one being hunted. The giant bird let out a ferocious cry as it dive-bombed toward him. He rolled out of the way, the predator barely missing him. He readied the rifle and tried to get a shot but the bird tried to dive him again missing but disarming Niko. He made a desperate run to get the gun back but the eagle landed right in front of him and shrieked as if to tell him,What do you think you're doing? Niko ran towards one of the abandoned buildings making it inside the angry bird snapping futilely at the door way which was clearly to small for him. He took out his back up pistol and fired a few shots at it which seemed to do little more than piss it off even more.

Farah nodded when Niko said the bird was relatively normal. If that was the case, then it probably was just your standard big and dang scary bird. Not anything like the mutated super eagles they sometimes ran into, or worse. A new creation from the mysterious lab.
She stopped at a low ridge where the scrubby forest gave way to the charred remains of a small town. She slid down the dusty slope and looked around. She drew her gun and scanned the sky. She snapped her head around when she heard the cry of an eagle and a few gunshots.
"Crap," she muttered.
She ran in the direction of the sound. She tripped over some rubble a few times as the disorienting mish-mash of thermal imaging and normal colors played across her vision. That was one of the many things she hated about her enhancements. The scientists didn't seem to have any foresight as to how this new eye would affect her ability to fight.
She skidded around the corner and saw the eagle snapping at a small doorway. No doubt Niko was hiding in there. Though why, she didn't know. Then she noticed his rifle lying abandoned on the ground.
"Ah," she said. She aimed her gun at the bird's head and fired a shot. It missed, and the bird turned around. It gave a furious shriek and started flying after her.
"S***," Farah muttered. She bolted back down the street, looking for a building not blocked by rubble to hide in.

She nodded and listened at the same time, "Oh... I bet you could still hunt with a gun." She handed him a silent rifle and started towards the stream, her long coat trailed behind her as she dodged the branches on the short trees, her platinum hair reflected the bright shine of the sun that peaked out of the clouds. She suddenly stopped at the stream, a flash of brown caught her attention. A rabbit hopped over towards the stream, taking its fill of water. She hid behind cover and and pulled back the string of her bow. The sound of a wheezing arrow headed towards the rabbit and struck it down. She jumped over the small stream and picked up the rabbit, and picked up her arrow and placed the rabbit in the bag.

"Kay," Dominic said, taking the rifle and adjusting it in his hands. He followed after Re, wondering if he'd be able to hit anything with the gun.
Of course you will. You were trained for this weren't you? the more confident part of his brain said.
Yeah, but that doesn't mean you're any good. the other part said.
"Nice shot," he said, when Re shot the rabbit, "Let's hope there's more."
He looked on the leaf littered ground for tracks. Now that he could do. There was a deer track, but he wasn't sure if it was fresh or not. He bend down and pressed down gently. The earth was still soft.
"There might be some deer near by," he offered, "There's a track here."
He shrugged.

She nodded with a impressed look, "Excellent tracking." She nodded, she didn't give praise lightly, but she felt impressed how he found the tracks. She turned towardss the tracks studying where they went. "It leads North. I will follow after you." She followed him with carefully steps, being quiet enough to not scare the prey around the around where she was. She felt for any heat with her thermal enhancements. She removed her gloves and felt where the heat was coming from. It was a little ways away but still emitted a warmth.

Dominic smiled a Re's praise.
"Thanks," he said. He nodded when she said she'd follow him. He took a breath and scanned the ground for more tracks. He was eager to make a good impression. It wasn't always easy being one of the youngest members of the team. As he looked for more tracks, they slowly began to reveal themselves, like a luminous trail of spots.
"This way," he said. He picked up the pace, following the tracks along the stream. He came to a halt after a few minutes. The tracks here were getting fresher.
"The deer must be nearby," he said softly.
