Why is it only Breast Cancer that gets all the attention and the charities and the support?
No offense meant to anyone who's been affected by it, but what the hell? It's not the only kind of cancer out there. It's not even the most common, or the most deadly. Lung cancer kills about four times more people, and is only a little less common.
Brain cancer is relatively rare, but it's probably one of the worst ways to die I can think of.

And yet everywhere there's the pink ribbons and the fund raisers and everything. I don't get it. I honestly don't. Why not just make a general cancer charity? It seems a little unfair that the second people hear the word cancer they think of breast cancer and never bother to think about the others.

Also, people who think that people with lung cancer don't deserve any sort of help because they "brought it upon themselves" by smoking." Smoking is a disgusting habit and it almost certainly causes it, yes, but seriously? The fact that people do so little research on a disease that infects and kills so many people all because they think these people don't deserve help sickens me.
There's no excuse for that. I'm sick of hearing this argument, it's disgusting.

I don't care about the little pink ribbons and I know breast cancer a horrible disease, but it's not the only form of cancer. Not by a long shot.

My grandma died from like the only incurable thyroid cancer. I've never seen support ribbons for that. :l

I mean, sure it's nice to support breast cancer. Though it's becoming fairly curable as far as I've seen.

Most of the money from all this "slap a pink ribbon on it and feel good about yourself" merchandising doesn't even go to cancer research, prevention, etc. Too often it's people just mindlessly buying pink things and getting warm fuzzies when they're really only giving cents (at most) on the dollar to the actual charities - and Susan G. Komen is actually a fairly rubbish charity, tbqh. You can't get rid of something just by "awareness", the world doesn't work that way. Meanwhile, more obscure but potentially much more life-threatening cancers are virtually ignored. =_=

That is what really bothers me! I know a lot of people die from it, I knew a sweet person who is in heaven now, but what about things like Acute Myleoid Leukemia or brain cancer? If you want to help, you gotta raise money yourself nowadays
