"I think...I think Zoey might've known your brother is all," I said slowly.

"R-Really?!" Alex said hopefully.

:Reagan:

I nodded. My mind nudged at the barrier between whatever it was that I was using and new memories flooded in, ones that I shouldn't have. So this was Zoey's mind. "Yeah. They were best friends when they were younger."

"do you know where he is now?!" Alex blurted excitedly.

:Reagan:

I searched through Zoey's mind curiously, searching for Nick. I pulled up a memory and watched it, like a movie on a projector. When it finished, I looked back to Alex. "The last time she saw him was..." I frowned. "Before she ran away from Derek, at the place where they were keeping her." How could that be? Nick was dead, Alex had just said so.

"he's...so they didn't...I KNEW IT! I KNEW HE WASN'T DEAD!" Alex said jumping around. "When Derek captured Nick, my (slightly) younger brother Nathan thought he was dead for sure, but I just KNEW Nick could take care of himself!" Alex explained excitedly, green eyes shining.

I grinned at him, then looked in further. "Zoey felt SO bad about leaving him. He was her best friend. She promised she'd come back for him, and she doesn't intend on breaking that promise."

"i-I still can't believe he's ACTUALLY alive!" Alex said.

I grinned and hugged Alex gently. Suddenly my eyes widened. "You know when she left the van for air?"
