My Mother Rescued A OEW Rat.. And On The Way Home Had 5 Babies.. So Now I Have 6 New Rats To Join My Family Of 15 Ratties..

Was Glad She Didnt Have A Big Litter.. And All Babies Already Have a home lined up. they will be staying with Me.

So i added this little dumbo girl to our family about a month ago........and i still dont have a name for her! I thought one would come to me in time but i just cant think of anything.She is a shy little girl, kinda quirky compared to others in my experience. She is the only one i have ever had that doesnt greet me when i open the cage she always hides. Any one have any ideas on a good names for her? I am just stumped the ones i have thought of just dont fit.

Speaking of cats and rats- I'm a bit worried for when I get my girls, because I have a cat in my room and cat that comes to my window and tries to attack my cat through the window. That's where I plan to put their cage. Should I keep my cat out of my room if I'm not in there?

Try to avoid putting the cage close to a window, or the rats might become sick. They are very sensitive to draft.

That cage sounds great ^^, I'm going to need to get a new cage as well as I'm finally getting another rattie, a female to keep Jake company ^^.

Are you getting the doe spayed?

Of course, I couldn't handle all those little rat pups on my own xD Plus, it wouldn't be fair on them.

It would be better getting Jake neutered. Spaying is a much bigger operation which can be painful for the girls.
With boys it's just a 10 minutes op.

You can never be certain that they will survive the operation, though, so the very safest way would be to get another male rat to keep him company If you carefully introduce a young male rat, there shouldn´t be any problems.

But I'm worried the two males would fight, Jake can get a bit aggressive, he even used to fight with his brother ... I'm not sure if getting another male would be a very wise idea /:

Ok, then it might work with a female. If Jake is neutered he will probably be a bit less aggressive too.

Aww...shes so...adorable! :D you could call her Rose or Lilly. Aww... Shes so tiny and cute :D
