Entry Fourteen

Well, JDT. It's just another day. It's Thursday. Can't wait for tomorrow. But let's go over my day.

I woke up to find my regular outfit waiting for me. Thank goodness. I threw them on and ran downstairs. I Wasn't even hungry. Last night when I got up to write in you I kinda had the munchies... Ehheh... I took dad's car again today. Hopefully mine will be out of the shop soon. I had to flip through the radio stations to find the one I wanted. My father listens to country music. He'll be mad next time he turns the radio on and is greeted by the stuff I like.

In the parking lot I found Ash's car and parked next to it. He was still sitting in the drivers seat. I guess he was using his phone or something- his head was down and he looked like the was concentrating. I got out of the car and went over to his window and tapped on it. His head flew up, and a smile spread across his face. He opened the door and jumped quickly out. "Hey there, Kylie." He said to me. "Oh hai dere." I replied, jokingly. I gulped and took a deep breath. "Hey, can I ask you something?"

"You just did."
"That wasn't the question."
"Alright. What was the question?"
"Last night. Um..."
He sighed. "Yes, Kylie. I did do that because I like you."
"...Really?"
"Yes. Why?"
I threw my arms around him in a massive hug. We walked into school right next to each other. I was very happy.
Lunch proved a very good day. Bailey was no where to be found. Really- no one at all had seen her all day. But something did happen. Something I didn't like. I looked up just long enough to see my ex-friend Moon walking into the lunch room with Britney and Sandy. They'd gotten to her. I sighed. And then my old friend Juan. He walked in with none other then Renn. Did I mention that Renn still had a bandage on his nose? Apparently Ash broke it pretty good.
What where they all doing? It wasn't like them to hang out with the popular kids. In fact, they usually hated them.

After school I drove home slowly. I wanted to think. Wait. I wanted to think? That's a bad idea. I parked the car in the driveway and went upstairs. I plopped on the bed. I was starting to think there was something very wrong about that school. But then my thoughts wondered back to Ash. "Something from a nightmare" He'd told me he was. Couldn't he have been more specific? As far I knew he was a flipping ghost! Wait.

Nightmares. Fangs.

Maybe he was a vampdog. Wait- no. That doesn't sound right. If I found out my now boyfriend was a werewolf- I'd freak.

Entry Fifteen

JDT. It's now Friday night. Out of school for the weekend! And Monday is my last day, so, yay! But I finally found out. I know what Ash is now. I asked him during lunch.

"Alright, Ash." I said- staring him in the eye. I want to know and I want to know now. What. Are. You. And don't veer off-topic. I need to know."
He leaned in real close. "You remember when I said..."
"You were something from a nightmare? Yes, I remember. Now WHAT from a nightmare? Are you a Vampdog? A Weredog? A flipping ghost? Is my boyfriend a ghost?"
"No, I assure you I'm very much alive. Although I bet you've never heard of my kind before. For you see, I am neither Vamp or Weredog. I am both."
...Both? "What on EARTH do you mean by both?"
"I mean what I said. I... I'll show you later."

He did show me later. After school he drove me to his house again. The roomy backyard seemed even bigger this time- even though 3/4 of the yard was dominated by trees. I stood on the patio in shock. In the center of the yard, where the trees cleared to form a perfect circle, Ash changed into something I never thought I'd see as long as I lived. He was huge.
In the place of my best friend, who was usually just a few inches taller then me, stood a giant black wolf-dog about twice my size. It took everything I had to not start screaming.

I couldn't scream. I'd offend him. He'd think he was a terrible monster and run away to never return, and I couldn't let that happen. But the sheer size of him was unreal! His deep brown eyes stared at me, waiting for my reaction. My reaction had already passed. I no longer felt like running. In fact- I took a step closer to him. I kept stepping closer until I was able to put one of my paws on his now twice-then-regular-sized muzzle. He sighed, his massive tail flicking back and forth. Faster then I could blink he was back to the Ash I knew.

"And yet... Even though I can shift in and out of a wolf form, that's only half of who I am. The other half are these stupid things." He motioned to his long teeth. "Either way, I could kill you. But I don't want to, and that's the strange part. I feel like we belong together."
