1x1 ~ Aven and {sweet pea}

( i was in mock trial, so I only know what we did in that, but I can try...)

:Aly:

We stated our stories after being sworn in, telling the truth and nothing but the truth. That's exactly what we did. Our lawyer then went on to make points about how our case was valid, our the prosecution was wrong, yadda yadda.

[Aven]

The judge looked at us. "Further questions?" he asked us, then turned to the prosecutors once we'd answered no. They stood, eyeing Jenna, Kimberly, and Carter.

:Aly:

"Your Honor?" our lawyer asked quickly, standing up. A tear trickled down my cheek. "I'd like to point out to the court one final thing. Miss Simons is crying. Crying of what, you ask?" he turned to me and I looked up at him, then said brokenly, "She's my daughter." He nodded and turned to the court. "Would a kidnapper cry over a child? Would a kidnapper even keep the child alive for this long? Ask yourselves that before the verdict. Thank you." He took a seat and I started to silently cry again.

[Aven]

I placed my hand on Aly's shoulder.

(idk you decide, but I'd be really sad if they lost, lol)

I looked over at her while we waited for the jury's verdict.

[Aven]

(lol idk but you'd be sad so we'll see)
(i mean i'm not that mean but realistically it'd be really hard to win this one)

I glanced around the room. The jury scrawled on their notepads.

I looked over at Bridget.

I bit my lip harder, desperately hoping we won.

I loved my family more than anything in the world. If that got taken from me...I bit my lip.

The judge stood, after collecting the jury results. I tried desperately not to cry. He looked them over, then declared 'not guilty'. The tears spilled over as Bridget came running to us.
