Tuxedo Thomas sat on the top of a brick wall that blocked off an alley, grooming his tail carefully. The long, soft brush was his most prized possession and he was extremely proud of it. He had even risked an ear once, just to save his tail. It was worth it, of course; girls like his tail, and he liked girls. So, by some sort of property, having a nice tail made him sexy. He was determined to keep it that way. When he was finished with his tail he curled it around his paws and looked out over the bright street before him, watching humans as they scurried back and forth from their cars to the buildings and back again. All of them were so patchy and ugly- the only fur they had was on the tops of their heads, and sometimes on their faces. He wondered if they had mange, and then worried that it was contagious. They didn't have tails or whiskers, either, and he wondered how they kept their balance. Thomas stretched out his front legs and lied down, curling his tail around his side. Humans were weak and squishy, they had no fur to keep them warm, no tails or whiskers for balance. Their sight was bad, their sense of smell awful, and their language was loud and grating. How did they manage to hunt? He had once seen one of their paper leaves, floating down a gutter in a rainstorm. It showed one of their females in what, for a human, would have been considered skimpy clothing. Or something of the sort. She was so skinny that he could just nearly smell the reek of sickness. It must have been some sort of warning notice, like be sure to be quiet so that we can hunt and eat, otherwise our females will get sick and die. Yes, that seemed reasonable. Pleased with himself, Tuxedo Thomas flicked his whiskers and yawned. It was about time he got to sleep.
