He no longer remembered his roots. No longer remembered what it meant to be an Ahzenai, what this place he once called home had meant to him. He no longer remembered, and therefore he no longer cared. Disdain glittered in the white eyes of the black and red Ahzenai as he cast his gaze around the cavern that was Ahzen. Campsites littered the cavern, the mark of the intruders here. Creatures looking to woo newborn Ahzenai. Normally, the sight of the campsites would enrage the Ahzenai, however this time they held no interest for the dark Ahzenai. Instead, his pale gaze was on the unassuming, twisting tower of light that was the center of Ahzen. The vortex all Ahzenai came from. For months, the Ahzenai had been trying to find a way to close the vortex, to stop new Ahzenai from being born. However, he had failed. Again and again, he'd failed. Grumbling under his breath, the Ahzenai sat down in front of the vortex, his ears pulled back. "I don't know what to do!" he growled to himself.

"Well then it's a good thing you're not the brains of this operation, isn't it?" At the deep voice, the feline creature winced slightly before turning around. At the edge of the trees, staring almost amusedly at him, was a dragon. Its smooth skin was a deep red color covered in black stripes and splotches. His pupil-less eyes were a deep yellow that seemed to bore directly into the Ahzenai. "What are you planning to do, then?" Annoyance quickly shot through the dragon's eyes as he made his way towards the large cat-like creature. "That kind of attitude is why we are not making any progress, Kotha. I'm planning on utilizing the naive newborns to our advantage. We may not be able to close the vortex," here the dragon's voice dripped with mirth and he eyed the vortex sarcastically before going on, "however, we may be able to control the newborns. Make them see things the way we do, and then we can get all of these...wooers out of Ahzen." Kotha's eyes widened, and suddenly he dipped his head in agreement. "That would be much easier than trying to close the vortex. When do we start Ercanbald?" The dragon let a cold smile touch his muzzle at his name and turned his attention to the vortex as it slowly began to change color. "We begin now."

Halcyon's eyes widened in shock when he stepped back into Ahzen. The pale Ahzenai had been gone for months, gathering herbs and stones to stock his little niche in Ahzen. Unlike many of the newborn Ahzenai, he'd decided not to take a companion. Instead, he'd remained in Ahzen, studying and learning from Valcyon. When he'd left the cavern that was his home, would-be suitors packed the land to its max, a fact that the Ahzenai truly enjoyed. Now, however, it was empty. A few Ahzenai mulled around, but something wasn't right with them. None of them seemed interested in his arrival. In fact, they were all turning their attention to a large black and red Ahzenai who stood in front of the vortex, a cold smile on his muzzle. Kotha, what have you done?! Narrowing his eyes, Halcyon quickly buried his stones and herbs and began to make his way towards Kotha. Suddenly the dark Ahz's head snapped over and his white eyes met Halcyon's. "Ah, so you've finally returned." Getting to his paws, Kotha padded closer to the paler feline. Noticing the way Halcyon's gaze continued to move back and forth between himself and the newborn Ahz, Kotha puffed his chest out proudly. Now he alone was in charge of Ahzen. Valcyon didn't challenge him, since all of the newborns would fight for him. Ercanbald had left months ago, bored with the domination of 'a simple cave.' Now it was all his. "Isn't it beautiful? No more annoying creatures attempting to persuade us to leave our homeland. They don't even have the longing to leave anymore!"

Horror flooded Halcyon and he quickly let his eyes sweep over the Ahzenai again. "Valcyon allowed you to do this?" A cold smile touched Kotha's muzzle and a demented gleam entered his eyes. "Valcyon isn't much of a threat when he's faced with an army of Ahzenai, now is he?" Almost as quickly as it had arrived, the horror filling Halcyon's mind was rapidly replaced by red hot anger. With a loud snarl, the cat-like creature leaped for his "brother." The cold smile on Kotha's muzzle disappeared and he leaped to the side and skittered backwards. A low growl rose from his throat and suddenly the other Ahzenai in Ahzen turned to face Halcyon, loud growls coming from their throats. "You see, Halcyon? I cannot be defeated! They do my bidding." Suddenly there was a sound at the entrance of the cave, drawing the attention of the bristling animals. A human male stood there, his eyes bright with interest. "Oh look, a suitor." Kotha's voice was layered with sarcastic anger. Turning his eyes to the army of Ahzenai, he flicked his tail in the direction of the man. "You know what to do." In one smooth motion, the pride of Ahzenai turned and began to stalk the man. Halcyon was frozen in horrified fascination, watching as the deadly felines got closer and closer to their prey.

Suddenly one of the newborns lunged, its claws sinking into the human. Halcyon felt his anger rising once more as he watched the would-be suitor fall at the fangs and claws of the newborns. "Kotha, you need to stop them! They'll kill him!" The black and red Ahzenai spun on Halcyon, his fangs bared in dark joy. "I know they will! I've taught them to do so! No longer will Ahzenai be prizes to be won! We are our own now!" "And what of the Ahzenai who actually want companions, Kotha? Where are they?" Kotha's eyes grew cold and he slowly smiled once more. "They meet the same fate as the ones who'd claim us as a prize." Halcyon gasped, unable to speak. Surely he didn't mean..."Yes, Halcyon. I kill them." This was the final straw for Halcyon, and with a loud, challenging roar, he lunged. This time Kotha didn't flee, turning to fight instead. The two Ahzenai circled one another, knowing that they were evenly matched now that Kotha was on his own. Their growls echoed throughout the cavern, drawing the attention of the pride of Ahzenai. Almost in silent precision, they circled the two growling males, their attention focused on them. With sudden certainty, Halcyon knew that if one of them were to lose his footing, the spectators would be on him. Then I guess I'll just stay on my paws. After a few more moments of circling one another, Kotha lunged, his claws flashing inches from Halcyon's muzzle. The battle had begun.

so i need some help for this indecision :B
My next ahzeni is going to be biased on a snow leopard/thunderstorm thing

she will have the gas element and i cannot decide which clouds color scheme would look better any help?

** keep in mind her eyes will be blue :B

these were my favs =) Although #4 prob goes better with blue eyes.
