i very much agree! (although its easier to understand when you have read it multiple times

) but harry potter isnt very well written. i fully agree with you when you say you dont like it near as much as lotr. i mean, rowling is an extremely creative person, and i absolutely love the plot, but its not anywhere near as exciting and complicated as lord of the rings. its also not good literature... and the movies are rather boring. sorry thats a little off topic but i randomly rant about stuff a lot. excuse my weird quirks

I just
have to disagree here. I think Harry Potter is very, very well written. It was hard for me to put down. It isn't as complicated as LotR, but I like the writing style so much better.
I can't wait until The Hobbit comes out!
Hey, dont get too worked up here, we can have different opinions. im just saying, harry potter seemed good until i read lotr, but then i was kinda like "eh, thats an awesome series and i mean AWESOME, but this... this is like beyond AMAZING!!" but maybe its just me; i have a weird obsession with classics and instrumental music. it probably has something to do with the fact that i live an "alternative lfestyle", which disconnects me from popular culture, and my parents are both teachers. woah i seem even weirder to myself when i post this stuff on a forum! not trying to make enemies here; just voicing my opinion.

Yeah, I can quote pages of books after I read them, and I know how you feel about never wanting them to end, thats why I read at night, so I can dream farther into the story

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A flame from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king
In the Garden of Paradise,
beneath the Tree of Knowledge,
bloomed a rose bush.
Here, in the first rose,
a bird was born.
His flight was like the flashing of light,
his plumage was beauteous,
and his song ravishing.

wow its a new record for me; i stayed up till 11:30 last night, reading!! im not exactly great at staying up.... one time i got really mad at myself because i fell asleep while orcs were attacking Osgiliath... its annoying because both of my sisters are really young so i can only watch lotr movies after they go to bed.

Same here. I can't understand how everyone in the world isnt obsessed with LOTR. It's so amazing!!
