By gerbils, I think you mean guinea pigs? Guinea pigs and bats are only released for special events and holidays which have their own adoption pages.
Malk doesn't make guinea pigs or bats but there won't be anymore malk dragons because:

If you're talking about in the books, most females were green. So green was a very common scale color despite them not really talking about other greens. Males varied in almost every color, but Females tended to mostly be green accordingly.

thank you, but if dragons were always slaughtered, it is not logical, that e. g. grey dragons are very rare -. the females must get uncommon at least, too

That's the hard reality, has nothing to do with CS.
