The girl in the mirror was crying, and there was nothing I could do to help her. I tried to reach out, tried to touch her, but it was futile. I wanted to tell her not to be afraid, that everything was okay; but I couldn't, just couldn't. I couldn't lie to her. I couldn't lie to the girl who had been through so much, even if she could hear me.

I could see her on the other side of the glass, crying. I could feel her pain, feel her sorrow as she tried in vain to return to the mortal world. I desperatedly wanted her to break through; but again it was in vain. Once dead, forever dead. Cotaku would never return to our world, but continue to live on in her own. As I would continue to live on in mine.

To the humans Cotaku was dead. But to me, Cotaku was alive.
