She flew gracefully back to him. "Do you mean...?" she was thinking he was gonna commit a burglary.

Malcom composed himself with a sigh. "You made a statement involving me in a pretty intimate manner, without us really knowing eachother." He glanced sideways at her with ambery-golden eyes. "I think that bit has to change."

[trojans.]

Reuben licked her spotted coat self consciously, and had her wings poised to fly away, if she felt like she would cry. And she was silent the whole time, only saying, "Continue." she could tell he was going to tell her that they couldn't be together.

[Leeseetsa]

"So," His voice took a turn for the more heavy, rich, entrancing vibrato that he commonly used for his pseudonym, Bandit. "Let's start this over." He put a hand out to her, as if she was supposed to shake it. "Hello, I am Malcom, criminal mastermind and cat burglar."

[trojans.]

"I'm Reuben, mind reader. Oh yes, you didn't know [I]that![I]" she laughed and continued, "and I still love you."

[Leeseetsa]

"Well," he continued, Sinking a little too far into character, "I'm glad to meet someone who's opinion of me doesn't change the moment they figure out who I am." The point of the Bandit persona was to maintain an illusion of control. He stood up gracefully on the edge of the building nd bowed gracefully, taking a moment to glance at the horizon. "I suppose it would be nearly impossible to trouble you to not let your feelings affect our school life?

[trojans.]

"Actually, I can do that, if you want." she replied.

[Leeseetsa]

"Very good, then, because you will more than likely never see this part of me again." He looked up and let her see is eyes, sharpened from a rather handy, sudden light that came and vanished instantly. "This is a side of me you hopefully will never see a second time."
uh-oh.
Bandit was going away and Malcom was coming back. He had to make his leave, QUICK.
"So, with a final adieu," he navigated in front of her on the small ledge, a slightly scary look to his too-dilated eyes. "Forget this side of me!" He took a single step off the building and fell strait down, dropping fifty or so feet before he attempted to tic-tac a 60-foot-gap. (No, he did not die.)

Reuben stood staring at where he had disappeared. She flew back to the forest, but it was already daybreak. Time for bloody school. she thought, and flew back. Once she arrived, she realized her only "friend" was Malcom, because that was the only animal she knew. She looked around for someone to talk to.

(Malcom 'll come around. He just needs some loosening up. )

Malcom got home just as the sun started rising. Wow, that was a close call, he said to himself as he slumped against the building. What... HAPPENED there, Bandit? There was know doubt that, despite the over-all preferred cover of darkness, Bandit was the more socially adept side of him. No, not a different person, But it might as well have been, they where so different. Bandit was the pure black cat, the snake-charmer, the devious thief. The person he had been for nearly his entire life. Where did Malcom fit into this, truly? And, more importantly on his mind and stomach...
Why did Malcom feel this weird? Especially when he thought about the conversation he and Reuben just had?
He felt a tight sensation in his chest about it.
He habitually got up and grabbed his stuff, and started walking to school. He needed to talk to her again, but not at school. After school, then, he thought. He nodded and carried on.
