Both of my girls started out as a grey, and then from the back up their fur started to turn a brown colors. Her full colors are probably coming out, so it shouldn't be a problem. If she seems sick, or if it's thinning then it may be a problem.

Okay, that makes sense. Thank you! I thought it was her coat just changing colour until I saw the part of her fur that looks a little like it's thinning or has black under it or something. But if that is normal then I guess there's nothing to worry about xD
I don't think we'll be taking her to a vet as other than the colour change she seems healthy

The colour of siamese fur depends on the surrounding temperature. Colder surroundings = Darker points
If the temperature is frequently changing, their fur colour may become patchy.

I took a closer look at the individual hairs just now. Her skin is a normal pink colour. The weird looking hairs are a mix of colours.The base and tip of the hairs are cream, and the centre is dark brownish. The white around these bits are similar to how lighting hits embossed letters, so I think the reason it looks so strange is just colour playing tricks on the eye. Looks like the darker bits are dented in, haha.

Does anyone have any advice for me? My pet rat Harriette won't chew on things a lot. Her teeth are getting really long, and I don't think that's good 0.0.

Im begging my mum to let me get two female rats but she says they stink alot, i knew they smelled a bit but is it enough to make my whole room smell?

As long as you keep their cage clean it shouldn't smell too bad. :3


I'm getting rats soon, but I have to get girls. My mom doesn't like the males' "lower area". ;n; The boys are more cuddlier and lazier. Oh well, at least I'm getting rats.

Also, AlphaWolf: It is the cage that smells and that should be all you have to worry about. I cuddle my girls all the time and they don't stink at all. Ferrets are what I always heard stunk :/
