I don't even know how to feel about Holidays anymore.

When I was young, they used to have meaning beyond the commercialism. Nowadays, even a day as happy as my Birthday becoems another bitter day to endure where I expect something to go wrong. The only holiday I feel any joy towards is Christmas, but that's only because presents. Then again, the fact that so many others get such a joy and in some cases a for-the-better life changing event is enough to make even the silliest celebration worth it. Plus I can't complain about the days off and the ability to shirk any responsibility.
Didn't do my homework? Because Christmas.

I don't know, I'll just settle with the fact I'm steadily turning into a crotchy old fart way before I've even gotten near being 50.

Quit it with your damn pity parties. I'm tired of your ridiculous stories and over dramatic attempts at getting sympathy. It's obnoxious and somehow, regardless of how horrible you're acting, people still come to your rescue. How the heck do you even have any friends left, anyways? You treat everyone like crap and expect to make up for it by gloating and making a fuss about how wonderful you are.
You're lucky to have friends like this, it's a damn shame that they waste so much effort on you.
