Thanks for the inspiration, even though that wasn't directed at me. I often look at writers that are so much better than me and feel just awful, like there is no way I could possibly write something half as good. It's a damper to my spirits, but I'm getting used to telling myself that I just have to practice, and eventually I'll get to where I want to be.
I also find that I write rather slowly. I think it's because I re-read and edit everything so much, when I really need to just let go and edit later. But even then, it takes me forever to write. Do you guys write quickly or do you also have trouble figuring out how to word what you want to say? Sometimes I have those moments where the story just comes to me, but most of the time I feel stumped.
But! Today I made a basic outline for a story I'm working on, and I feel like that really helped. I know where I want the story to go, I just have to work on not rushing it. Also, I'm writing a short story that I would really like to put up. It's the first story I've been able to sit down and really write, and it's coming along pretty smoothly. I think I find it easier to write this one because I feel like I can actually do it, since it's going to be short. So I think I'll want opinions on it soon, if anyone is willing(:
And Alda I totally understand what that's like. With siblings, there's
always some sort of distraction. And if I go off into my room, my dad starts asking if I'm depressed -_- I hope you find a way to block out the distractions and are able to write. Perhaps listen to music? I find I have to listen to music when I write, especially if I need to get into the mood of the story. I have certain songs set aside for each story ^.^
