She was checking the new border lines with Mudfeather. They gained a good chunk of land, and there was a beautiful, shady grove near the new border. "That's strange," She told Mudfeather. "It seems that many foxes used to live here. Their smell is everywhere, but very faint. Do you think they'll come back?"

He looked at the deputy, "I don't know.... I hope not. Look over here!" He said, padding towards a large den. "They must have lived in here, and it looks like there was a lot of them..."

"Let's head back and tell Snowstar." With that, bth cats padded towards camp.

Batwing trotted over to Icehawk and nuzzled her when she got back to camp. "Was everything onay over there?" he asked.

"I don't know. The smell of fox was everywhere, but very old. They must have left during the sickness. Do you think they'll come back?" She asked her mate, nuzzling him back.

"Probably, but it's not very likely. They might stay away for a long time, seeing as the sickness was killing off so many and possibly making some prey go scarce there." he meowed, sitting down.

Solarpaw jerked and wailed through coughs.

"Well then,I can adopt you two if you would like."

She sneaks up behind Mudfeather and pounces on him."I got you!" She meows in victory.

TimberKit gratefully accepted the help and stood on wobbly paws. "Thanks." She mewled. "I'm TimberKit by the way." Her voice was bright and innocent, her lineage unknown of. She was oblivious that her father was a murderer, that he was dead. She didn't know what her mother had lied to her for her sake.
