Rereleases are worth just the same as a true-date, and whoever says differently is wrong. It's a lot harder to trade for a truedate just because there are a lot less of them circling around, but that doesn't mean just because of a date they're worth more. They have the same graphic, same rarity.

Are rereleases worth the same as originals in trades? I've heard they are valued slightly lower, but is that true? If it is, how much?

Just what the phrase means. Adopted without being signed in. You can hit that adopt button as many times as you want as there is no adoption limit. The pets you get do not effect the rarity of the account adopted equals and they can not be traded or dressed up or added to your account in any way. But they're yours as long as you don't lose their code and they have your name on them. I did it the first Advent I was here back in 2009. Still have all of their codes saved in my bookmarks too. I think I did it last year as well. This year I didn't bother as I really didn't care too much one way or the other what I got since our collection is complete now.

When you adopt 18th/24th pets while not logged in an account, you still have the possibility of getting any pet from it. However, you can't keep that pet when you create an account or log in. However, when you adopt the pet, it still creates an ID in the database (or however it works) because it's still a pet that was so-called "created". They'll still grow up, so you can view them and all using the correct ID for that specific pet, but it won't be linked to an account.
