Willowpaw was on her way back to camp. she was glad he was distracted. that saved her for awhile.

"'Dunno," she murmured. "I was only awake long enough to eat a mouse today, but that would be it." She straightened into a laying position and huddled in on herself, curling her tail around her paws and wincing as she felt a stab of pain.

"Did the mouse taste funny?" he asked distracted as to what he would say to willow paw when he got the chance.

Willowpaw ducked into the apprentices den and closed her eyes.

Flightfeather shook her head and mumbled, "No.."

he listened in on her stomach again. "well, there are tiny little heartbeats in there so apparently, your kits are alive and kicking." he purred. "Good for you."

Startled, Flightfeather jumped and stared at him, dumbfounded. "Kits? I don't have kits."

"Well, apparently, you do! aren't you happy?"

Mercy wanted to go for a walk. she stood and padded into the forest, her kits following.

Flightfeather sank to the ground and covered her face with her paws. Her words were muffled.
