She raised her head as Stark entered, her eyes clear of emotion, though in her heart she felt a soft misery. "I'm okay." she murmured. "She splint my wing for me." she lightly fluttered the wing, wincing. It was slightly dimmer than the other, the bioluminescent glow slightly more faded, but it was straight and bandaged. She knew her face was pale and her eyes were glazed, and her fingers shook as she tightened the cloth around her leg. She had lost far too much blood. "Is Akane okay? Is she sleeping?" she asked quietly, pushing some dark hair out of her eyes with the heel of her hand.

"Yeah, I'm a bit cocky...What's your point?"

I nodded in reply to her question. "Yeah, she was out by the time I set her down. Now all we have to do is wait. She should be fine though." I went over to sit beside her, leaving my position on the doorway. I noticed how pale she was and frowned slightly at that, "Maybe you should rest too," I suggested, looking into her eyes. My lips upturned into a sly little smile.

"Let's not and say we did."

Racing to the house, the twins burst through the door. No one was downstairs. Kain, remembering the name of the wolf boy, ran up the stairs. "Stark!" he called. "We have a problem, man!" he said as he strode down the hall. Kain followed. There was the smell of blood, but it was stale, so they continued on until they saw both Stark and the winged girl inside the bathroom area. "Hey, I think it'd be a good idea to let you know that our little friends are camping outside." and by 'friends' he meant the hunters. "The fire they made was small and we couldn't detect it." Kain glanced at his twin. Both of them were still out of breath. "So, any ideas?" Kole wondered.

Sarina forced a small smile in return. "I guess." Momentarily, her mind retiurned to her house, thinking of her absent father who still thought she was at school. Wait...what would happen when four o'clock rolled around and she wasn't home? When she did come back, there would be hell to pay. She snapped to attention. "Stark, what time is it?" she asked urgently. Suddenly, the vampire twins from earlier burst in. Instinctively, she recoiled, but forgot about their earlier bloodlust as she heard their words. The hunters were still here. Mentally, Sarina released a string of profanities so obscene that she forced herself to utter "Oh, sh**," instead of the curse words going through her mind. She wouldn't be able to return to her father's home with them watching the house like hawks. Like crude, evil hawks. Especially in this condition. Feeling helpless, Sarina rested her throbbing head on her knees.

"Yeah, I'm a bit cocky...What's your point?"

I shrugged. "I dunno, I lost track off time hours ago. Last time I checked it was 3:45 and that's right when I entered the forest and my phone died." 'That's also when I got chased by a hunter and found my way here,' I thought. I look up as I hear footsteps rushing up the staris, my name being called along with it. The tone being used to say my name, did not sound like a casual greeting, or a voice wondering where I was. No. This one was worried. The two vampire twins from before came into the bathroom. My eyes widened as they told me about the hunter. "What?" I couldn't believe it. "D*mmit!" I cursed. I glanced at Sarina and saw her with her head on her knees. I switch my gaze to the twins, my eyes saying one thing. 'Give me a second...' I look at Sarina again. "Hey, are you going to be okay?" I asked, my voice suprisingly calm. I didn't just want to leave her here on the floor, clearly in agony.

"Dude," Kain said, almost irritated. "I don't mean to be harsh, but since she's like us, she'll heal quickly." he ignored the jab to his ribs from his twin brother. This girl needed to toughen up or she wasn't going to survive. Someone had to tell it to her straight, not sugarcoated. "And now that there are like...what? Three hunters...?" he glanced at Kain, who shrugged. "Look, they know where we are." he growled. Kole sent him a glare, and he tried to soften his voice a little. Just a little. He WAS talking to a girl after all. "If you want to survive, you'll have to learn fast, heal fast and act fast. There's no time for any of us to be sitting around, nursing a wound or two that will heal in a few hours." at these words, he glanced over to the window. Oh, now smoke could be seen. AFTER he and Kole had already snuck around and found the hunters. How helpful. Not. "Kole and I are not going to let these guys win." Kain finally finished, looking at the winged-girl again seriously, but with hope that she'd not give up. Kole nodded in agreement. The hunters would not beat them. They wouldn't let that happen. They'd die trying if anything. "We're not going to sit around. If you want to live, then toughen up." he turned to look at his older twin, who raised a brow. Kain shrugged off his silent question with a 'hmph' and went out the door and down the hall. "I know you can do it." he thought. Kole was still for a second, then, "Umm, yeah...meet us in the kitchen. We'll try to see if there's anyone else here." he said quietly, then went after his twin. What in the world was that all about?

"WHAT?" Sarina gasped. It was that late? Crap. She was in for a world of pain when she got home. "I'm fine, I'm fine." she waved away Stark's concern, just before one of the vampire boys started ragging on her about being tougher. She knew she should feel ashamed, nod obediently and agree to be stronger, but all she felt through her embarrassment was indignation. "I am tough!" she insisted, calling after them down the hallway. "It's not like I fight hunters every day!!" To be honest, this had been her first actual run-in with a hunter. She knew about them and she'd seen and avoided them, but she'd never had a real confrontation with them. She'd actually been quite confident that she could take one if she met them. But she hated guns and knives and man-made weapons of any kind. She had an irrational fear of them that came with being a Gray Angel. Her instincts were still from ancient times. "I don't heal faster." she mumbled to Stark. She had inner power. Her wings were exasperatingly delicate, and she hated them for it. "Sorry." she shook herself, quickly standing up. "Sorry. I shouldn't be making excuses." she took a deep breath. "Let's just get these hunters taken care of so I can get back to the house." She never called the house "home" out loud. It was no home to her.

"Yeah, I'm a bit cocky...What's your point?"

I stayed silent as one of the vampires ranted on about Sarina being tougher. He left and the other one told us they'd be downstairs in the kitchen. I nodded to him and shifted my gaze back to Sarina. When she suggested we should probably get going, I gave a a nod. "Sounds good to me," I said as I stood up, "I'm up to kick those hunters *sses." I saunter out of the room and made my way to the stairs. I galloped down the wide staircase and walked to the livng room area and into the kitchen. I lean against the wall, my thumbs hooked in the front pockets of my dark, faded and torn jeans. "So, any ideas?" I ask. I already had an idea forming in my mind, but I wanted to see what these guys came up with. Maybe I could get some more ideas off of theirs, who knows.
