Lyra looked at him surprisingly. "You said 'we'... Do you want me to come along? Or did you...erm, Never mind..." She walked away feeling awkward. What a strange boy, she thought.

Solan awoke with a start, whimpering in his small bed. Those dreams... they came to him in full force now. He gave a shudder, thinking about them. They were getting desperate- it wasn't hard to tell; but should he answer their pleas? "...." He looked over to the side, grabbing the small necklace on the bedside table. It was the only thing that separated him from the other person; another child who has no home- like him. It made him wince, thinking about it, even after all these years in this village....

It wasn't long before Solan had realized he was already changing; his night clothes shredded quickly in favor of the ones he wore in the day. When he was done, he patted his coat down- a habit from the mountains he refused to abandon- and gathered his belongings. After this task was done, he was out. He still wasn't entirely sure where he was going- the destination only faintly poking his thoughts. This village...in all honestly, it meant nothing to him. Nothing in comparison to what he grew up with, and he felt little regret leaving it so abruptly.

So Solan Miguel Bailey left his village, intent on reaching this Stony Grove, this place that he only faintly knew.

Luan, sighed, now feeling bad. He clenched his teeth, trying to get everything in his mind straight. This girl, Lyra, had strange dreams too. In the dreams, only ten were chosen as riders. Was she one of them? And there were eight more..the other screaming in the village? Perhaps. "W-wait." Luan called solumnly. "Did, did you want to come with me to Stoney Grove? We are both headed in the same place anyway, and two is better than one right?" he asked, giving a half smile and a shrug.

"There there Amma.." Corinne cooed, patting her mare on the cheek. "We have a long journey ahead of us, dont we girl. If only I didnt feel so alone going through this.." she whispered, Corinne's left hand raised and touching her ears. One of the few things that depicted her lineage, which she hid so well all of these years. Her ears, her long legs, unusually good senses. All from her elven brothers and sisters. Maybe, she would meet some along the way. "Elves were riders too, weren't they Amma?" she asked her horse, who only nickered. "Well, better be off then." Corinne placed her boot in the stirup, packed her belonging on, and grabbed another two horses. In case, you never know when you need to barter with someone for food. So, Corinne trotted slowly from the barn and into the fields. She could hear talking, so she looked behing her. A boy and girl, out talking. Another boy walking a little away from her. "Maybe they too are like me." she smiled, whistling to them. If they heard.

Solan looked over to the girl who whistled, curious as to why she would. It was instinctual for him to walk over, but he did so- and he stared at her curiously. He put a hand to his back, bringing down his hood so that both parties could see better, and straightened himself. He wasn't very tall, even in comparison to this girl- and he frowned. He shrank back, seemingly losing interest in this one sided height battle. Was she older? Gosh- she was very pretty. Most girls Solan knew weren't as pretty as this one- so he was quite surprised. Oh, but why did she whistle?

He looked behind her and noticed two others out. What are people doing out so early in the day. Not a lot of the villagers are out- so he was again, pleasantly surprised. Once more, it seems that they were all his age or older. How coincidental this was! Then he snapped his attention back to the girl, suddenly remembering his manners. "Ah, hello." He said a bit shakily- not that it showed. He was a bit nervous meeting new people, he only ever interacted with the other kids of his orphanage after all.

Corinne smiled, jumping off of her steed with unusual ease. She had a pleasant expression on her face, her blond hair covering one eye. "Hello." she said happily, walking over with the horse's reins in one hand. "What are you doing out so early in the morning. Oh, how silly. I am out as well." she laughed. "I am Corinne. I havent seen you in the village, do you come from there like I do?" she asked curiously. As she looked down to Solan, Corinne began to feel self concious. Can he tell? No, not likely. Most people in the village didnt question it... But, you can never be too careful. Unusually large height, not normal for a sixteen year old girl. Corinne began to laugh nervously, at herself.

when he heard her voice, he was a bit mystified. Do girls usually have such pretty voices? He cocked his head, eyes scrutinizing the girl a bit as he thought about it. All the girls he knew had high-pitch and scratchy voices, but this girl had a very smooth and airy feel to it. It was almost.... unexpected. Do all pretty girls have nice voices? Solan's expression became confused at the thought. Mother wasn't fairly pretty- work and snow getting to her- but her voice was also smooth. So do all girls get smooth voices? He was quite confused. then he realized he was forgetting something again. Oh, but what was it again?

Oh yes, manners! "...Solan M. Bailey." He responded simply and then furrowed his eyebrows in thought. There was another thing she had asked for...oh yes! "I'm out to Groney Stove- I mean..." He stopped, realizing that the name sounded stupid. "Uh... a place. I forgot its name.... Nice to meet you, Corinne." He said after a bit of stumbling. Curse his memory!

Corinne laughed a little at his mistake. "Do you mean Stoney Grove? I am going there as well." Corinne replied with a chuckle. "Well Solan M. Bailay, it is a pleasure to meet you." Corinne gave a small curtsey and then composed herself. "If you are going to the Grove, you were probably headed in the wrong direction. It is west of here, that way." she said, motioning to the path behind her. "I have an extra horse or two, why not come with me? I can get you there in no time." Corinne paused after this statement, remembering she had to slow it down. Elves, stupid super everything senses... she said, most likely exagerating. Elves dont have super everything. Corinne shook off her thought. "Come on Solan, it is really no trouble. And it would be nice to talk to someone beside Amma here." she said, patting her mare on the nose.

Oh look, a free ride.

Solan shrugged, he didn't see why not. "Alright." He replied stoically and went next to the horse that he supposes he would ride on. He wasn't surprised that he got the direction wrong, and he felt a bit blessed that someone caught him before he had gone to far. Like, out of the village to far. That would have been bad. He concentrated a stare at the house, eyes narrowing a bit at the thought when he looked at Corinne gravely. "Your offer is appreciated... "He started, his voice giving a sense of gravity. "But..." He clenched his fist, looking down, before shooting his head up.

"I have never ridden a horse before in my entire life!" He suddenly yelped, not at all ashamed of this blunder he was producing.

Corinne cocked her head, not even bothered by his outburst. "That is alright. Always time to learn, right?" she asked happily. "If you want, I could help you learn now, you can ride on Amma with me, or you can take Amma for yourself and I will ride an other. My horse wont bite, she does what I tell her anyway." Her mare gave a trustful whinny, her gentle eyes looking at Solan. As if she begged him to calm down and get on already. "Or, we could walk. Whatever you prefer Salon." Corinne was usually pretty easy to get along with, most of the time. She always acted with grace, mostly because that was an elf's way. But, she did have a temper when she was tampered with. Not often did that occur. She looked curiously at Salon, giving a half smile at the kid. Kid, he wasnt that much younger than her anyway. Corinne moved the strand of hair from her eye, only quickly remembering her ears so she fixed her hair to cover them. Now, she could see and feel secure about herself. "What do you say?"

Solan petted his chin thoughtfully, his expression going unchanged throughout the entire ordeal. He suddenly remembers a kid in his orphanage that would've definitely chosen to ride with Corinne. He wasn't entirely sure if this was the reason- but he knows it's one of them: She's pretty. Because she was pretty, He was sure that the boy would yell at him to take the offer of riding with her because of the opportunities it gave him.

Come on Sol! Be a man! Take her offer and sit with her! Haven't you ever wondered what it would be like to touch a woman's body? Nothing like those kids back in the orphanage! They're nothing against this true beauty! So come one, what do you say- hubba, bubba?

Solan crossed his arms and thought, yeah. That would be what he'd say at a time like this. "It's probably be better if you told me how instead." Solan agreed. Fact was, he was more of an auditory learner, rather than a physical one like his friend there. He appreciated the advice though, can't go against facts.
