I stand stiff before the king. His fierce glare makes me want to look at the ground and shuffle my feet, but I refrain. I had been caught. All my life I lived with this curse, all my life knowing I couldn't hide it forever. But I had tried. I had needed to try. And I had imagined and fantasized of a time when I would not be forced to hide my power. But that time never came. Those dreams have been shattered. Now I stand in front of the person who decides my fate, and I already know his decision. He passed judgement on me and my kind before he even knew us. And soon, he shall proclaim my fate; announce it for all to hear.

Death

What are your goals as an author?
My goals would include-
.Finish a book
.Have said book published
.Create a sort of semi-fan base to keep me writing
Can you give us a sample of your writing?
Cold. Hard. Unwelcoming.
The girls eye's seemed to peirce deep down into his soul as she watched him through the bars of her cell. The man looked at her and pleaded through his eye's, 'I'm sorry.' He tried to say. The blondes' eye's only continued to harden as she shook her head. "Go away and leave me here." She mutters before turning away and seeming to stare through the wall. At what, the man did not know. But one thing he did know, He was going to really have to work for this girls forgiveness. And only then, could he work to regain the good graces of her heart. He had betrayed her, left her, hurt her; For that, he was sorry.

--The above is simply a drabble, Something that I'm not sure that I want to continue or base anything off of. I thought it was... okay enough though.
Are you currently working on any books?
Not really... Just drabbling around a bit.
Why do you want to join?
I believe that this could be a good asset for throwing around ideas and brainstorming, as well as to get some great tips from other wrters who seem to have the same problems as me and such.
Do you have published books yet?
Ohdearie. No.
Do you wish to find a "writing partner"?
I find depending on others could become quite catastrophic, though maybe sometime in the future.
What Role(s):
Uhh. Author?
What's your favorite Genre?
Humm. Realistic fiction, though I do enjoy medieval fantasy[ex. Dragons, knights, etc.] and one of my favorite authors would have to be James Patterson.
What kind of books do you write?
A mixture of fantasy and romance I suppose. No set genre yet... Though maybe a little horror is mixed in there.

SandAssasin-Actually, the date was changed to convert Pagans, since some of their holidays fall around the date of Christmas (including Saturnalia which occured on the 25th). It was easier to convert people by going "Hey! Same party, different reason for having it". Many of the Christmas traditions are actually Pagan traditions, such as tree decorating. Yay! Facts!

AldaVincenza I know how you feel. I find that writing out your entire story in a weird, sort of summmary helps. Just write the entire plot, begining to end, as if you were explaining it to someone. Then, when you are writing your book and you hit the "Where do I go?" moment, you have a very basic map to follow to keep you from getting too stuck. It works wonders!

Imagination, you are excepted once you change your role. You can find the listed on the first page i.e. Author, poet, etc. Don't worry, many people are confused about that section. I need to talk to my co-partner about clarifying that part.

All others will be reviewed and accepted once they complete their forms.

Multitude of reasons, really ^^ The conversion of Pagans was a very big reason, what with making them comfortable with joining and etc., along with preventing Christians from joining pagan revelries.

Blurgh. I have to edit some excerpts for class. I know they don't need to be that good since the rest of le kiddies aren't very good authors, no offense to them, but I feel like asking erryone to help edit ;~;

I've tried writing a summary. I probably should do it again, I'm all for letting the book write itself, though. I will most likely be 'forced' to make a summary once I get around the center of the book, it may be a bit easier since I'll know my characters a bit better, and possibly I'll have more of a plot chosen. Thanks for the idea, horse.

Going to try to make an effort to join in some part of the convo here o.o
Writing a summary sounds like a good idea! I'd never thought of it, I think I'll try it now though. Usually I will just plan a story out in my head, improving it over time, but the problem with that is the risk of forgetting something.
I'm glad so many people are joining!
I eventually want to put up pieces of my work to ask for opinions, but I'm not very far on anything yet.
One day(:

Imagination, I think my partner would prefer it if you chose a category to place yourself in, but if you want to do it later, I'm fine with that since you put quite a bit of effort into your form. But if you could make a decision, that would be great! :)

Raven, you are accepted! Welcome to the club!

Gianna, to accept you, I need some example of your writing. Also, I think your form could use a little tweaking and tidying up. A few more reason for joining might be nice and deleting parenthesis would be a plus. As of right now, I cannot accept you.

And as for our discussion on summaries, I always recommend writing one when you start, even if you go off on a different path. I used mine for NaNoWriMo, and it really just helped to keep me on track or from getting confused. It was a really simple outline (maybe I'll post an excerpt), but instead of going "Oh, where am I going?" and trying to think out a plot point in novel form, I could go to my summary and get a faint idea of where to go and then fill in the blanks and add stuff. It's like a coloring book: the outline is there; but I need to add the color.
