Really good for me, I got the Lucky You perfume by Lucky brand. Also celebrated the birth of Christ, I know a lot of people worship Santa now during Christmas, not Jesus.
There can be no deep disappointment where there is not deep love.

Alexandra blinked her stormy grey-blue eyes. All this mater had been so strange, in a way. Her recent past seemed hazy: she could not remember the unnatural succession of rapid events that had changed the course of her life. She let out a profound sigh, resting her head on her once crossed arm; now unfolded, leaving her straight, dark hair to drape delicately over her elbow. Pursing her lips, she presed herself to remember, but only a sharp pang of pain spread rapidly across her forehead. She winced slightly, rubbing her lithe, small hands over her temples, trying to remove the pain from them, doing nothing to deterr the actual pain, only managing to numb it slightly.

With that, she let her gaze wander over the white floors and largely windowed walls that formed the dining room; perhaps food hall would be the more exact word to describe the large, airy room. Dotted with tables were set in a rational manner as to allow the different groups of species sit down with each other without breaking their ordered, almost hierarchichal structure. She knew not which group sat at which cluster of tables, but had she known the different groups that made up this institution, she would have easily deduced their sitting positions.

She turned her head over to look at the other half of the hall. Double doors, and a small, side one - she noticed, and made a mental note of - along with seven coloured banners hanging down from the ceiling. Each one embroidered with a dark figure in thread, and latin writing underneath.

Ironic. Such a modern institution, and they insist upon writing their names in pig.

She watched intently, yet she felt almost bored. It was evident lessons had not finished yet, but the shadows predicted that lunch would be soon.

The seven banners. Where had she heard that before? She sighed once more before taking down the meanings of each one. A grey banner, embroidered with a howling wolf. The Hunters. She sat up straight, surprised to be able to read the captions beneath the sewn image, but was easily reassured by the thought of Xavier teaching her how to read latin. A small smile spread across her features at the memory of her long-lost childhood; Xavier and Rosa insisting upon her learning latin as part of her education

"Why?" a young Alex had protested. "None of my friends are learning that!"

"It'll do you good, trust me," Xavier had responded wryly.

She dismissed the strangely linked thought and turned back to the banners. Beside the grey one, a red one, with a roaring gorilla on it. The Warriors.

How strange. When would someone create a gorilla as an image of a fighter? I'd alays associate a warrior with a lion or something, she thought, perplexed. Shrugging, her gaze was drawn to the image of a rose on an oak, and The Healers caption written underneath. She moved on quickly, nothing catching her attetion about that one. Plants were widely assoiciated with medicine, in fact, her guardian's aunt, Josephine, had been a wonderful apothecary. She truly had a way with plants.

The Fish. An azure band caught her eye; on it was sewn a fish jumping out of water. She frowned, finding it strange that one would name a house after a fish, of all things.

A black band, with an image of silver was next. The NIghtwatchers. Again, she was baffeld by the sight of a feline, a panther or jaguar of some sort, and it's name, knowing not how to make the association beween the modern building and the ancien standards.

Purple. with black once more, met her eyes. The Intelligence. She snorted with a mixture of laughter and contempt, and rolled her eyes; such motto was represented by the figure of a standing rat. She turned to the last one, and was once mroe enstranged by the sight of a banner. Yet this one was different.

The Flight. Such piece of cloth used to be full of grandeur, just like the rest. It now stood torn, tatty, full of dust, as two flying owls observed downwards from their tapestry, grey thread over white cloth. She shuddered, wondering how it had come to be, such strange situation.

A hefty cramp spread over her spine and stomachal area, drawing her out of her daydream, and Alexandra allowed a large groan to escape her mouth. Her head lolled to face the other side, her brow furrowed deeply with strained lines. Her arms travelled quickly to her stomach, clutching it tighty, as a wave of nausea hit her like wind against a wall of brick.

Her eyes snapped open, blank: seeing, but at the same time, not.

The chase. The demon. The grey-eyed pack of football players. Her mood swings. The jump of the building. The fall. The death. The resucitation. The darkness. Her arrival. The cramps.

Her recent past.

Ah, I'm glad to hear both of your Christmases were good!

Mine was quite nice too, we had some out of town family rolling in that we hadn't seen in a while.

I love have family around for Christmas. It one of my favorite things about the season...though I can't deny that the presents are very enticing...but I love to give just as much as I love to receive. I love showing people that I listen to them, respect their interests, and what to see them extra happy on Christmas. It is such a jovial holiday, which I get to continue a little more tomorrow at my Dad's house. Yay! :)

Promise, you are accepted! Which historical time periods do you prefer to focus on?

That's 'cause Jesus was born during the summer. But they changed the date so good Christians weren't tempted to join in on Pagan partay's ~
Knew the first part, DR informed me of the second.

Gah, Skinny Jump isn't doing so well. I don't have any inspiration for it. It started off real well, but I don't know if I'm going to make it to the part where her anorexia develops .v.

@ Sand Assassin, try taking a break from writing. That happens to me way too much and I always lose the motivation that I had when I first begin writing a new book (That's one of the main reasons I'm working on so many books at the moment). Brew is over in your head and try thinking of certain parts, and go from there. This tends to work for me when I can't seem to continue writing.

At the moment I've been writing like crazy. I'm getting places with it, which is fantastic, but I wish I had a bit more of an idea as to where it will end up in the future. When I write I don't think things over and write what my mind comes up with, but I've had many times where I feel like the book isn't getting anywhere, nor do I think it will go somewhere.
I know it's part of the writing process, but I'm sure many of you know how frustrating it is to be unsure of the direction of your book. :l
