Reuben was lonely (as usual) so she flew over to the nearby pizza shop, ordered a slice, and quietly started eating it. A couple of guys kept looking at her, smirking at each other, and some even winked at her. She could tell they were jerks.

Malcom awoke. Again.
He just couldn't get to sleep.
Usually, after getting home (If that's what the government called it,), He relaxed and fell asleep like a brick, not to awaken till around midnight or the early A.M. hours. But something was keeping him up, seeing as this was the fourth time he'd woken up and it was only now just getting dark. All his homework was done, and the small apartment was dead still, save for him. The rumble of the metropolis area outside told him that the rest of the town was still awake. He sighed, got up and dressed, and went out into the night air. He Leaped from building top to building top, free running, towards the town center.

After Reuben finished her pizza, she flew over town square, it was nighttime. Running, she saw the boy named Malcom again. deciding she wanted a friend, she flew over to him, streached out her wings, and said, "Hi, Im Reuben. What's the rush?"

Malcom heard a voice coming from the sky and looked up. He didn't know what to expect, but he nearly tripped down five stories in shock. How was that Reuben girl above him? The building to the side of the one he was on wasn't that tall!

Oh, she has wings. Derp-de-derp, Mal. You can think quicker than this.

"Trying to tire myself out. I'm normally asleep right now. You?"

[trojans.]

"I dont sleep. I dont know if it is my nocturnal Dusky Barn Owl DNA clashing with my human ones, but, ya. I have insomnia." she liked this Malcom guy, maybe they could be friends, or even something more. "But, because of that, the government thinks I don't need a home. so, i live here in the trees, with some other Dusky Barn Owls." She was getting tired, so she landed in front of him. She smiled lovingly.

Oh, so the government had a manhandle on her life, too? Malcom looked around. He wasn't on the tallest of buildings, but he was up high enough that It could be... bad if something where to make him fall off. He was in that middle zone where he could be being watched from the ground, or the tops of other buildings, or maybe both. He did NOT like that idea.

"Not to be rude, but could we chat somewhere else?" he pointed to the tallest building in sight, which was a favorite spot for him. The top of it was a glass pyramid, except for a small lip that seemed to be a perfect seat. "You fly, I climb?"

[trojans.]

"How about, we both fly?" she said mischievously. She grabbed him at the base of his arms and flew them both to the top of the glass pyramid.

((By the way, just a random fact, she has feathered ears and tattoo of a Dusky Barn Owl on her arm.))

Sightly startled, Malcom caught his breath and looked up at this assertive girl. "You'd better not drop me!" He scanned the air for helicopters. Not a single one. Yet.

She smiled, "I won't." she flew with her powerful wings propelling them foward.
