(Would it be okay if maybe I changed my female character to become a servant at the castle as well? I wish for her to be a magical creature.)
Ignoring the man-coward, Sam waited patiently for the girl to return with her belongings. That had almost been easier than he thought, but he was not displeased. He knew she would have come with him eventually; family obviously mattered a lot to her. Maybe someday she would get to view him as family, he did not know.
A deep rumble thundered through his chest; it amused him how they thought he would eat her. No, Sam rather preferred not to eat humans. They did not have nearly enough fat for him to keep his body functioning healthily. Seals, and occasionally small whales were much better. Their blubber kept him warm and healthy.
Sam was surprised but pleased as the girl touched him. Even if she didn’t trust him not to eat her at least she wasn’t too terrified to go near him at all. Glancing around at the others in the room, Sam almost felt bad for Sevilen. Her family was obviously losing a valuable member, seeing as most of them seemed useless. Then again, perhaps this was meant to be; they didn’t deserve her. It was up to Sam to convince her that he deserved her now. He had a year to do so.
Grunting, Sam shouldered through the door. Once outside he stood again on his hind legs, black hind claws buried deep within the snow. His nose wavered for a moment as he looked at the skies, almost as if star gazing. He stayed perfectly still for a moment and then finally dropped again in a puff of snow with a satisfied grunt. The family would be rich by the next week. Soon they would forget about Sevilen, he assumed. Either that or honor her as a goddess for having brought them such fortune.
Laying on his belly, Sam almost seemed to sink into the snow. “Climb on my back, little one. It is too cold and we are going a fair distance.” A fair distance indeed. He waited patiently, eyes blinking lazily as he almost seemed to hum with happiness.
