Marik shrugged off his emarrassment.
"Kiyoko is a good friend of mine from school," Ryou said, "Are you also dueling here?"
"Yeah," Marik replied, turning to Kiyoko. "Are you dueling?"

"Oh, me? No!" Kiyoko cried, cheeks turning red. "I couldn't duel if I tried...Duel Monsters is really confusing, I don't know how you guys understand it."

Mokuba Kaiba walked the streets of Egypt, on strict orders from Seto. He was to search for the duelists invited to the new tournament, such as Marik Ishtar and Ryou Bakura. He turned a corner, and saw exactly those two seeming to be in conversation with another girl that Mokuba didn't recognize.
"Hey!" he greeted, running up to them. " Are you guys ready for the tournament?" He looked at the other girl. "Hi, I'm Mokuba Kaiba! Who are you?"
"Hi, I'm Kiyoko, Ryou's friend." the girl replied.

"Hello Mokuba," Ryou greeted in his usual joy.
"We're ready for the tournament," Marik answered.

Mokuba beamed at them.
"Great!" he said. "It starts tomorrow- you know where it is, right?"

Marik nodded, as did Ryou.
"Yep," Ryou replied kindly, then turned to Kiyoko. "Will you come too?"

"You bet!" Kiyoko said. "I've never seen a professional duel in person before...it ought to be interesting, right?"
