Princess Saphira walked down the long, lonely halls of the castle she would soon inherit and sighed. "Why must I marry that obnoxious Prince from the other kingdom? He bothers me to no extent. Oh I wis-" she paused as she heard a strange noise coming from her room. She opened the door and saw a black-cloaked figure leaned over he jewelry box, shoving her strands of pearls and diamond earrings into his pockets.
"Excuse me sir, but what are you doing?" she asked calmly although she was being robbed.
The theif dropped the ruby ring he was about to shove into his pocket "Huh? I mean, whats it look like lady? I'm robbin' ya."
"Well, I see that. But-"
"Why do you care, you can just replace them." He looked at her with his deep blue eyes and she stared right back.They stood there, eyes locked and finally, Saphira broke the silence.
"Well, what is your name then Theif?"
"My name is Shadow," the theif declared quite proudly.
"Well, take what you wish, I do not care. I have to marry an obxonious prince in a weeks time and you taking my jewelry couldn't make me any more angry."
"Thank you, Lady." He said,bowed and hopped out the window.

The next day, he was back.
"What do you want,Theif? You took everything yesterday."
"I have come to see you,Princess. I've been thinking, you dont have to marry that obnoxius prince," he said looking into her eyes," you could run away and live with me."
"Well, that is a reasonable offer. But why would I?"
"Be-because-becuase...I..lve you.So please come with me. We can marry and live far away from here."
"Well, I do believe I will. But one thing."
"Yes, Lady?"
"Take off your cloak, Theif. I want to see what you look like."
So the theif took off his cloak and showed his love his beautiful blue and black fur.
"Is that better, Lady?"
"Yes. You are quite handsome."
"I have one favor though, Lady, please stop calling me Theif,call me by my real name, George."
"As you wish, George. But please call me by my real name."
"Yes, Sapphira, my love."
And paw in paw, they lept out the window and never looked back.

Wow, that took a long time -.- I was bored so I wrote this boring story X3

Our world is perfect, the books say.
The laws are made for a reason, and will benefit the whole of society.
But what is the limit of the law? How far should it go?
More importantly, what happens when you break them?

The wind tore at my coat as I stood, suitcase in hand, waiting for Drake to pick me up. My heart thumped at the thought of seeing him again- it had been years since our last meeting, the day before I left for college. We promised to keep in contact, to write every week, but schedules, time-zones and weariness had made that promise fizzle out after a month. How much had he changed? Was he still that carefree boy that I had fallen in love with met in the first grade? I knew he was a moderately successful owner of a small business, but that was not enough to paint me a picture of his character, of his home life.
He's probably married now, with a large family like the one he was raised in. A shadow flickered over my heart as that thought passed into my head. If he was married, that would put him even farther out of my reach than he was before... no, Leo, stop this madness. You know that you will never be together. Just settle for some nice girl that respects you, settle down and live a normal life.
"But what is life without passion?" I asked aloud, drawing some surprised looks from the people around me. What is the point of living a normal life if you cannot enjoy it? Should I even try? Why would anyone- My thoughts were interrupted when I felt a hand on my shoulder, which swiftly spun me around to face its owner.
"I've been standing behind you for a good five minutes, Leo. You are as oblivious as ever." Drake laughed after saying that, before bending down to retrieve some of my bags. "Since you've been away for so long, I figured I take you over to my place until we can get yours fixed up." Slinging a bag over each shoulder, he motioned for me to follow and I did, awkwardly dragging the remaining luggage behind me. He hoisted them up onto the buggy, before turning back. "Front or back?"
"Uh- back," I replied after a moment, deciding it was a good idea not to risk it. With a knowing grin, he jumped up onto the driver's seat before reaching down a hand to help me up. Taking it, I felt an odd sensation in the bottom of my stomach, but quickly pushed that out of my mind. Climbing into the back, I huddled into the furs as Drake got the horses moving, lost in the feeling of his gloved hand in mine.

Not the best thing in the world, but it's 11:00 p.m. where I am and I haven't had any coffee today. I've got more planned out but it would make this post super-massive, so I'm not going to bother with it for now.

{one minute i held the key
next the walls were closed on me
and i discovered that my castles stand
upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand...{

The day started with the peal of bells. They rang and rang with a maddening, sickening intensity that made goddess' head hurt more than it already did. It felt like they were trying to pound into her skull and turn her brain into a puddle of mush. If goddess didn't know better she would say her enemies rang the bells, just to irritate her further. With a sigh, she rubbed her temples with one shapely green hand and contemplated grabbing at her hair in frustration. However, that just would not do. A woman in her position could not show such cowardice and weakness.
"M'lady, how are you faring?" goddess turned toward the voice of one of the lesser goddesses that waited on her and waved her away. Jolli was one of her more perceptive girls and even though goddess could have used some soothing magic from her adept lady-in-waiting (as the mortals would call it), she knew her enemies were already upon her as it is.
Too bad she hadn't asked for healing magic. For no matter what she did that day, her enemies were already set on throwing her down from her throne.

With a bang of imminent doom, a shrouded figure entered goddess' bedchamber. His eyes were beautiful and childlike which only made his shrouded, mysterious appearance even more disturbing. A white hand edged out from under his robes, the only sign of a magic accident that had happened long ago. When he spoke, his voice was oily and almost too smooth sounding to be coming from anything humanoid shaped.
"You are finished, queen. Better run."
And with that Cronus dropped his robes, and turned into the true creature he was. Without a thought, goddess changed into her canine form and flew from her celestial palace. She didn't have time to look at it as she fled, but she wish she had as it would be many moons before she would ever see her home again.
That is if she survived this attack at all.
As she fled into the thick of the forest, only Lady Luck kept her from being murdered by the foul Lord Cronus. He was fast, and so was she but neither could give chase forever. However, when a mighty hunter shot at them, mistaking them for birds the goddess fell injured.
Lord Cronus left her for gods could not interfere with the lives of the mortals, but he would be back. goddess was marked. She had overstepped the boundaries of a woman, and the gods had determined they would make her pay.
That is if Bhane and her didn't kill each other first...

roman cavalry choirs are singing
be my mirror, my sword and shield
my missionaries in a foreign field.{

Hmm, chapter two. For some reason, even though no one seemed to like chapter one this story won't stay out of my head, xD
I don't like this chapter as much as I liked the first ;u;

The shy little girl stuck to the outskirts of the playground, content to play alone with her teddy bear. The other kids made fun of her for carrying it but she didn’t care; it was her friend, sometimes her only friend. She sat cross legged in the grass braiding the little red flowers that grew in the field into long vines that she wrapped around her arms and neck and wove into her hair.

“There, I’m a princess.” She said softly to the bear sitting in front of her. She stood up and held the bear to her, twirling in circles and pretending to dance. She heard giggles coming from the other kids but she was used to being laughed at. She could never figure out how to fit in, so she had simply stopped trying. She stopped dancing when she saw a boy standing at the fence, his fingers looped through the chain link, simply watching her. He was dressed in gray and white stripes, had some sort of white cape or scarf and was clutching a black teddy bear in one hand. She waved shyly at him and was shocked when he beamed a smile at her and waved back.

She hesitated, looking back towards the building. They weren’t supposed to go to the fence, or talk to strangers. But he was a kid, just like her, and he liked teddy bears too. She hurried over to the fence to say hello. As she got closer she could see that he was covered in dirt and his teddy bear was very old and ratty looking, it even had a purple patch over part of its body, but the boy didn’t seem to care.

“Hi, I’m Asher. What’s your name?” He said happily as soon as she was close enough to hear him.

“Paige.”

“Is this school?”

“No…its an orphanage.”

“What does that mean?”

“It’s…a place for kids to live when they don’t have mom’s or dad’s.”

He looked at her and tilted his head slightly, the confusion obvious in his amber eyes.

“How can you not have a mom or dad?”

“Sometimes they die, or sometimes they just don’t want you…and this is where they leave you…like mine did.”

She looked down at the ground and kicked at the grass with the toe of her shoe. He watched her for a second, trying to figure out why she seemed sad.

“I wish my parents had brought me here. I always wanted to go to school. Do you get to go to school?”

She nodded slowly. “Yes, we go to school, but today is Saturday. No one goes to school on Saturdays.”

“I would.”

“You don’t go to school?”

“No, they would never let me. They did let me play in the backyard though sometimes, but only if I was good.”

“What happened to your teddy bear?”

“I was bad, and dad ripped him. Mom fixed him later though and gave him back to me. I don’t mind the patch, I just like having a friend. I’ve never had a friend before.”
“I’ll be your friend, I don’t have any either.” Paige said softly. Asher smiled at her.

“Thanks…I like your flowers. I used to do that too if there were flowers in the backyard when they let me play out there.”

“You don’t do it anymore?”

He shook his head slowly. She looked down at him again and saw that there were some older vines still wrapped around him, but the flowers were dead and wilted. When she looked back up again he was staring at her.

“Why did you say you wished your mom and dad would bring you here? I would give anything to have a family.”

“You said this is where they bring kids when they don’t want them. I don’t think my parents want me. They always tell me I’m bad. I get in trouble a lot. I try to be good, but it doesn’t work all the time. It almost never does.”

“We get in trouble here too sometimes.”

He pulled his hands back from the fence and looked at her with tears in his eyes.

“They hit you too?” He whispered so softly she almost didn’t hear him ask.

“No…sometimes we have to sit in the corner, or write sentences in school, or we miss recess, but…they never hit us. Do….do they hit you?”

He looked at the floor and nodded slowly. Tears blurred Paige’s vision and she grabbed the fence, pushing her fingers though it in an attempt to reach him.

“Tell them to bring you here, we could be best friends and play together. You would get to go to school all the time. If they don’t want you, you can come stay here.”

“I…think its too late.” He put his hands over hers though the fence and tears ran down her face.

“No! It’s not, just…tell them they have somewhere you can stay.”

He opened his mouth to answer but a deep voice spoke from behind him.



“Asher, its time to go.”

Paige looked up to see a dark figure, cloaked in black walking towards the fence. As it got closer she could see piercing blue eyes.

“Please? Can’t I just stay here?”

“I’m sorry, its too late for that now. I told you we could come look, but we have to keep going.”

“Let him stay! Please!” Paige pleaded. The figure turned its eyes towards her and she hoped for a second that it might consider her plea, then it spoke.

“He can’t. It’s too late for that now. I’m sorry. Asher, come on, you’ll like where we’re going, I promise.”

Asher sighed and slowly let go of the fence and turned to leave with the dark hooded figure.

“Wait!” She called out. Asher stopped and looked back at her, tears running down her face. She pushed her teddy bear through the fence.

“Take him with you…to remember me…and keep you company.”

He looked up at the figure, who nodded slowly. He ran back to the fence and grabbed the teddy bear, clutching it to his chest. He smiled and pushed his through the fence to Paige.

“You keep mine.” She nodded, then asked quietly.

“Where you’re going…will you be ok? I mean, will they hit you again…”

Asher looked back at the figure who shook its head slowly. “No, never again. He’ll be okay where he’s going. He’ll have a lot of friends and no one will ever tell him he’s bad again.”

“Okay…just promise you’ll remember me…where ever you’re going.”

“Always.”

He promised then turned to leave. She watched him leave, tears slowly running down her face, until she couldn’t see him anymore then turned and slowly walked back towards the rest of the kids. They all made fun of her for being off talking to herself with her stupid toy but she didn’t even acknowledge their comments as she made her way inside. She went to her room and sat on her bed, holding his teddy bear on her lap and looking out the window. Just before she fell asleep she saw the hooded figure walk past her window, alone.

She dreamed of him that night. He was happy, running and playing with other kids in a playground at a school. His dirty clothes were gone, as were the dead flower vines he had been wearing. She watched as they played tag and kickball, laughing and smiling. He seemed to be the center of attention and she was happy for him. The bell signaling the end of recess rang and they all hurried towards the school. She wanted to call out to him, but found that she couldn’t speak, so she just watched, glad to know that he was happy. He ran a few steps then stopped and turned towards her.



She gasped as she really saw him for what he was; his wings and halo clearly visible for a moment before they disappeared as he smiled and waved, one hand still clutching her teddy bear. She smiled back, through happy tears and lifted his teddy bear, showing that she still had it and she was finally able to speak, even though it was only one word.

“Always.”

I don't even know...it just...happened. I started writing and it kind of took on a different turn that I had planned. Kinda sorta fits Concrete Angel by Martina McBride, though I only thought of that after I finished it. Anyhow...there ya go.
