^That
I feel an Occupy CS coming on~jkjkjk!
I'm just going to point out things I noticed
I don't mean to push any point, I'm pretty content with how things turned out
The thing about this is we have always had two boxes to adopt
2 Malk and 2 Normal assorted
So not only were the adoption ratios skewed to accommodate for increased adoption, but the actual adoption number was cut back
And then on top of that- less adoptions
Though for the offline adoptions I got the UR Lion and Cucumber quickly as well as three toxics, three leopard pups and well you can just check out the rest if you're interested- I only posted the ones of note:
viewtopic.php?f=21&t=379603&start=210#p15796575I think the most important thing to remember is
Little things DO affect people
Getting something nice- even if it is "virtual"- is a really good feeling. No matter how high you want to put yourself above it
We can't make the site 'unfun' because that defeats the purpose
There can't be too little and there can't be too much
You need to maintain contrast after all
Running a site is hard, but I trust you will make the right decision

They think they're entitled to things, and I feel like this year a lot of people are acting -entitled- to very rare pets and such given out on the 18th. I think it's a privilage we should be glad to have and not ask for more. I've seen lots of cucumbers around, lots of July '08s on the discussion thread, etc.
Very rares are supposed to be very rare. If we all get one, hm, not so rare, is it?
I don't think people mean to come off as "entitled" to have them or to come off as greedy, if it is greed. Many [if not all on this thread] people have said how grateful they are for what they got despite them not being rare/very rare. However, I think the main point that we're trying to make is that with balancing CS' "economy" then so much more people would be happy this holiday season, and it would help next year run a little more smoothly in terms of trading and trying to knock some dreampets off of people's lists.
I, for one, am very happy that we get one but as I am human I will admit I am greedy and wouldn't mind another rerelease at all.
As for the "rares are supposed to be rare" part of it, many of us could care less about the rarities. I personally want these rare pets to complete my collection, not because they are rare. Sure, not everyone thinks the same but I'm sure a great deal do. Never mind the fact we may just like the designs in general. I think the UR lion is absolutely beautiful and I wish very much to own it over the other UR pets because I love the mixture of pink shades.
You make a good point, I just believe that both sides make good points and one leads to more, how to say this, "happy" people.

I'm happy with what I got- have a (very slight) chance for some great, hard-to-get wishlist pets.
But I can see why people are unhappy - it is freaking near impossible to trade for any higher-level pets! Or even trade in general, lately. Can we say INFLATION, people?
I think a larger infusion of rarer into the economy would be really helpful, to new players, as well as people like me who have been around for awhile, and just haven't been able to break the trade group glass ceiling.
Actually, it would be pretty interesting to do some sort of economic study/model based on the supply/demand for rare-list pets...
And I realize they're just pixels, but I've vistited CS pretty much every day for well over a year now, and the site and pets have come to mean something to me.

Newbies wont have much luck this year.
Well put. The thing is that there has to be a balance. You don't want the site to be too easy but you also don't want it to be too hard. For newbies comming or people in the middle class it will be near impossible to trade for higher rated pets because they won't be able to compete with the CS rich. People will quit if it's too hard to move ahead.

Well, that's not entirely true. The extra Malk box has only been available once. Except this one year it has always been only one box with the adoption limit of two.

I don't know much about the economy of pets that's being referred to here, but I must say I'm a bit more worried about the other part of the economy, as in C$.
I've been trading C$ for a while to get pets I wouldn't have been able to trade for otherwise, but recently the prices have started to go up quite a bit, and I've been unable to trade this way because I can't afford it. I'd been hoping the rerelease would put the prices back into a more affordable range for me but that obviously won't happen now. I've pretty much given up on trading C$ for the rest of my time on this site and will most likely only buy it for myself. This means that now I won't buy nearly as much C$ as I have, maybe reduce it to once a year instead of once a month like it's been for a while.
I know that if it's just me this probably won't affect the site very much, but I think that there's a big chance that I'm not the only one who thinks this way.
Maybe I'm exaggerating the problem, I don't know, I've become very attached to this site in the last year and I'm just worried about how what happened might change it.
I'm
Sagaline on Flight Rising as well. If you can't find me here I might be over there.
