It's a modern retelling of Phantom of the Opera, except with some twists, like a sociopath and a lesbian romance. I think it is a pretty awesome idea, though the execution needs some work.

It sounds fantastic, a book I would definitely stick my nose in! It is indeed a very clever idea.

Can you give us a sample of your writing? (one paragraph or more)
The world has seemed gray ever since mortals have discovered the immortals living among them. No one wandered the streets. They slipped along in the shadows not wanting to be seen. Wandering around downtown were the immortals. They didn't fear anyone. They were strong and fearless. All the mortals would cower and scream once they saw an immortal. No one dared to go near them. They fear that they would be murdered just like the other mortals. But one person didn't hate these immortals, she loved one.
Slipping along in the shadows Amy snuck through the streets quietly. She was alone now that her parents were killed. She slid down an alley way towards her makeshift home she made by a flipped dumpster that was on its side. She had cleared out all the trash and found some ripped fabric to make a bed.
She walked in. Her long brown hair went down to her waist. Her blue eyes sparkled in the darkness of the dumpster. Blue eyes were claimed rare now since there were less than 75 people in the world with them in 2018.
She tugged on her shirt. A sigh came from the shadows in the dumpster. He emerged. His pale skin seemed to glow. His brown hair was spiked at the front. His dark brown eyes seemed lifeless. He was dressed in a blue T-shirt and dark blue jeans. She flung herself at him. He wrapped his arms around her. A small smiled appeared at the corners of his beautiful soft pink lips.

Hello everyone! I am back for the summer since I have nothing to do over the span of my two month summer vacation!
I am searching for some semi-lit roleplays to take part in to keep me amused over the time. I won't be on every single waking moment although (like I used to) because I do have a little bit of a social life this summer (surprise, surprise!).

What will we call you:
Karma or Traveler is quite fine with me.
What are your goals as an author?
  • Publish young
  • Be able to get published
  • Become a well-known author
  • Die a well-known author
Can you give us a sample of your writing?
(My apologies if this isn't the best in the world; I've had a long day due to my radioactive iodine treatment this morning.)
Zephyr had counted ten wagons in total, something that wasn't seen that often in the castle. All of the wagons circled around the courtyard, taking the path instead of crossing into the grass like most visitors decided to do. The passengers' faces were blocked by the tan covering, but Zephyr could tell that there were most likely multiple people. Peasants or nobles? Messengers or politicians? He knew nothing of their lifestyles, except that they were visiting the castle.
When all of the wagons came to full stop, the passengers stepped out without any help from the royal servants. They obviously aren't noble nor are they closely related to nobility, Zephyr decided as he investigated each and everyone of the passengers. They looked as if they could be mercenaries, with their rough, strong appearances. There were a few females in the mixture, although they didn't seem to be as rough as the males. But there was one female that made Zephyr catch his breath and stiffen greatly...
Are you currently working on any books?
If I hadn't been feeling so down in the dumps today, then I would have worked on Hermogenes to relieve the fact that I'm unable to go into public for forty-eight hours. I also have a Twilight Satire that I'm working on for a writing competition.
Why do you want to join?
  • I'm hoping to gain constructive criticism from fellow writers and give criticism in return (Although I'm sometimes too honest in people's opinions).
  • I know many resources and tricks that can help the starting writers out greatly.
Do you have published books yet?
Er... No.
Do you wish to find a "writing partner"?
... I think that my corrupted, demented, pessimistic, and highly philosophical thought process would end up scaring possible partners away. Also, I don't work very well with people.
What Role(s):
Author
What's your favorite Genre?
I'm not very picky about genres, although I have a thorough disliking for straight up romance or drama. Favourite genres include horror (Strictly Edgar Allen Poe or HP Lovecraft), fantasy, non-fiction (Plato, Charles Darwin, those people), and adventure.
What kind of books do you write?
I generally stick with fiction, fantasy, adventure, action, medieval, and some romance.

Howling, you are accepted. Your book sounds really interesting. I have a thing for fallen angels, and the romance is intriguing. Let me know if you ever need an editor! I'll be glad to volunteer! ;)

Traveler, you are also excepted! And I think I speak for most of us when I say that we are all demented here. (Though, I could be wrong, so I apologize if I am).

I will think about it. I am not far into it yet but I am still working on it. ^^;

What are your goals as an author? OHMAN. Well, first of all, whenever I tell people that I am a writer and that is my career, they say, "WELL HAHAHA SUREEE HONEY. YOU HAVE FUN WITH THAT." Uhhhuhhh. Right. I have been writing since I was two. I told my mom stories and she wrote them down, and I illustrated them with scribbles. I have never wanted to be anything else (except a vet when I was like five.) So my first goal is to prove everyone wrong. My second is to get a book published (I've only written four novels, and they all stink, but as I am in highschool that is to be expected.) My third is to win a writing contest - there is one in February for people in my state. Thirteen prizes, and I would really like to at least get honorable mention.
Can you give us a sample of your writing? Oh yusss. ^^

The rain beat down on the top of the hotel. The Starry. The woman was outside it. Her translucent blonde hair fluttered in the wind, but though drops of rain fell heavily from the sky, she was not wet. The crooked letters “Starry Night Hotel” had once flashed neon colors at night, but now they were broken, and dead-looking. How she missed it! She had loved the hotel like she had loved her family. Its beauty had always been astounding to her. The fact that she could have something that wonderful just drew her breath away. Its creamy white walls, its thick, velvety rugs, and the stars, glittering under its name. Those were well-earned stars. Five of them, sitting in a row. Just like its name. It had always been headed for glory.
She had led it there. She had made it something, and for once, she was something too. More than just a wannabe. It was her shelter, almost like her home. It seemed fitting that that was where it all should end. And with her, ended the hotel’s glory. Her end, and the hotel’s end. Together they would fall. And only with her help could this place recover its reputation.
It hurt her, to see it in decay like this. Not cared for, like it should be. It was almost like a person to her, something that lived and breathed, and…she felt slightly faint, and all sense of reality was ebbing away. In a second, she would go into a dream. She knew it well. She would being going to the Starry, like usual, and she would open the doors, but instead there was only an iron one. Instead, there was a dim lobby, and she would realize that her life had gone. When she was younger, she had dreams like that too, where she would wake up in a cold sweat, and be afraid that her nightmares would come true. Only in the light of the morning would she feel better.

^^^ Kind of an excerpt from my novel. It's completely raw and unedited, and pretty crappy atm. Please excuse me. x3

Are you currently working on any books? Yup. As I said, I've written four novels in my very short life (not saying my age, obviously, but again, highschool.) Right now I'm working on one - I'm about halfway through and 170-ish pages. :D
Why do you want to join? Because I am an aspiring writer (though I do hate that term; I am a writer, always have been, so not really aspiring.)
Do you have published books yet? Nope. Too young. I need to get some experience first.
Do you wish to find a "writing partner"? Ehhh, maybe. Some of the writers in the writing forum are....to say the least...less than good.
What Role(s): Whaaat?
What's your favorite Genre? Fantasy and fiction. I dislike realistic fiction mostly, but I'm forcing myself to write a novel that's mostly realistic because I need to work on character development.
What kind of books do you write? Again, mostly a combination of realistic and fantasy. I can't write romance because I have no idea what it's like, having not really dated anyone. I can't write sci-fi, or historical fiction, but I intend to try them eventually. I don't write nonfiction or biographies.

Queen, I can accept you as soon as you add a role. The list is on the front page i.e. author, poet, etc. Your form was quiet impressive and I'm a bit partial since "Starry Night" is my favorite painting, though whether or not it is related to your story is beyond me. I must say that your excerpt is better than you think it is, so don't beat yourself up too much.
