Echostorm raced, his paws leaving dust in the air. This was his escape. He felt the night air through his thick coat, it was like flying. His mind drifted and he ran, almost losing himself. It happened so fast, his body hit the ground, the dirt flying around him and his paes leaving solid ground. His eyes focused and he snarled. Someone was on top of him.

Skysong panted, her beautiful main coon coat filled with dirt and grind. "Echostorm, is that you?" Her voice was paniced, but excited. It had been so long!

[Keriae]

Blackstar could hear the voice, one he didn't recognise, ahead, mingling with the scent of Echostorm. As much as he hated to feel sorry and worried for Echostorm, these feelings filled up inside him, and his pace increased as much as he could, knowing, well, hoping really, that his warriors would follow him.
That was when he saw the she-cat pinning Echostorm. Nodding to Leopardfrost, he himself drew in the scent of StrayClan and took the lead, leaving the golden-spotted she-cat with the two rogues.

Leopardfrost bunched up the muscles on her hind legs and pounced, her forepaws extending as she flew through the air, heading for the long-haired she-cat that had Echostorm held to the ground. She didn't remember much of Echotorm, as she was a young apprentice when he left, but she knew he was loyal, despite what Blackstar thought, and he would always be her clanmate.

[Rosalind]

Appleberry laid her tail on his shoulders, guessing what he was thinking of because her mind had drifted back to Sunflame. "I know, and StarClan watches over us all." she paused, then added "Although I don't like this waiting, unable to do anything."

[Keriae]

Sparrowpaw nodded slowly, agreeing with the she-warrior. She was right; StarClan watched over them all, and would keep all the warriors safe. Yet they hadn't been able to protect his parents.
"Appleberry.....," The young tom paused, thinking over his words carefully as he lifted his amber, almost brown gaze to look at her, "does it always hurt to loose someone you love?"

[Rosalind]

Appleberry gazed at him sorrowfully and caringly with her deep green eyes and then softly replied, "Yes, because you love them, it will always be hard to let them go. StarClan has a destiny for all of us, and even though we might not understand it, at least we know we will see our loved ones again someday."

[Keriae]

Sparrowpaw smiled weakly at her, trying to turn it into a more confident one. The tom forced out a purr, thanking Appleberry without words. He didn't know what words to say to her after her reply, which was why he purred instead. He had lost both his parents, and Appleberry had lost the tom she loved. All three had been brutely killed in the unprovoked attack by StrayClan....
A strange feeling rose up inside him, like a powerful, angry beast. Like a powerful, angry beast with visious fangs from the Dark Forest....
"Appleberry, should we go after the patrol? And join in? I want to get back at the cat that killed by parents."

[Rosalind]

Appleberry purred back to Sparrowpaw and then thought about what he had said. "We better not... Its never a good idea to fight on anger alone, it will cloud our judgement and could end up putting us in danger." but she had to admit that her paws itched to go claw the pelts off the cats who killed Sunflame and took Falconpaw.

[Africa.]

Stormstart growled as her son took off at top speed ahead of them. This was also not the place to get overly-confident, and taking off without any backup was quite overly-confident her her opinion. Sighing, she bunched her strong muscles, surging forward in a burst of sudden energy, her large, fluffy tail streaming out behind her asshe went. She could feel Blackstar at her shoulder, sending her her neck fur prickling slightly, irritation gnawing at her as their last conversation returned to her thoughts. Better than Copperpaw, at least.
Breaking through the bushes, Stormstar was shocked to find a very slim, almost fragile-looking she-cat pinning Echostorm, a large and muscular tom full of strength, to the ground. This was rather backwards, if she did say so herself. How on earth had the tiny she-cat managed that? Deciding that these questions were better suited for later, she snarled at the female, her eyes like silver daggers. But she hadn't the time to waste; Leopardfrost was at Echostorms side and they were simply fending off a single she-cat whom didn't look to be the fighter-type. More of a huntress or a tracker, Stormstar guessed.
Flicking her tail, the Darkclan leader led her cats after Blackstar, silent shadows in the dead of night, creeping up on their pray.

Echostorm was taken aback. "Skysong?" He flicked his ears in suprise. "STOP!" he called to the others, rolling on top of his old friend. "Why are you hear?" his voice was hard but not unfriendly.
