Before The Scorpio Races...
...Came the Scorpio Trials.
Once, long ago, on a small island off the coast of the mainland, a group of people lived. They were a peaceful group- only when it came to the month of November did they get remotely violent. For in November, great wild horse-beasts would gallop from the surf and onto the beach. These equines were called the capaill uisce, or water horses. It was considered the greatest honor one could receive to be chosen by the goddess Epona to ride one of these beasts in the annual Scorpio Trials in November. Seven men and women from the island would ride the race on the sand on the backs of the capaill uisce. These seven would catch their own capaill uisce from the water and train them as best they could, though many could and did get injured or even killed. Others besides the Chosen Seven could join the race- however, without the goddess's blessing, many crashed and burned before the race even started.
Will you be one of the Seven? Or will you be a daring competitor without the blessing?

RULES:
-No powerplaying/godmodding
-Keep it PG-13: of course there's going to be blood, but try to keep it toned down. This IS a kids site, after all.
-Be polite
-At least 3 sentences per post, though a paragraph is much appreciated. (We all get writer's block sometimes, don't worry xD)
-Be literate. It's okay if you forget to capitalize a couple times, but I don't want something like:
" 'LOL' Jackie says & she smiles so happy 'yeah my horse is going 2 beat u guyz' "
NO D:
-Keep to the mythology of the book, and if you haven't read it, I'll inform you below.
-No Mary-Sues or Gary-Stus. That means no Bella Swans.
-Cussing should be at a minimum. The only two words I ever want to see on here are "damn" and "hell." No more, and use them rarely.
-No regular horses/ponies entering the race, that was the novel, this is different.
-I do not want 10 bazillion girls. Get over it. In The Scorpio Races, Puck is the only girl to have ever entered the race. I wanted to make it fair for those of you who love RPing girls, so I decided that the modern-day island had forgotten girls had entered in the ancient times.
-Characters must be age 16+
-Two charries per player, only 1 can be one of the Seven.

MYTHOLOGY:
-Capaill uisce are the water horses. The term is Gaelic, and plural is capaill uisce, while singular is capall uisce. (Yes, this means that the website Capalls isn't grammatically correct to those of you who play it x3 It would be called Capaill.)
-Pronunciation: Capaill uisce: Kop ull Ish keh
-Capaill uisce can be "controlled" by flowers, bells, iron, and tying their manes into knots of threes and sevens. Of course, this doesn't always work. In the book, it is stated that there was once a capall uisce that tore an arm half off, though it was covered in flowers. These are merely precautions.
-Capaill uisce cannot be ridden bareback, unless you want your character to die. When a human's skin touches the capall uisce's, the capall uisce's magic will make the human want to ride into the sea with it, and then the capall uisce will either drown the person or eat them. Not pretty. If you would like to have a character who can ride bareback, you'd better make up a pretty darn good reason.
-Capaill uisce emerge from the sea in November, and once you catch one it must be fed raw meat. After the races, you can either keep the capall uisce, like Corr in the actual novel, or release it after the races.
-Capaill uisce are violent. You cannot trust them, so don't go around having your character snuggle up with them at night. They'd probably eat your character. And then run away into the ocean.
-A capall uisce caught in a rainstorm will forever remain slippery and want to return to the sea.
