Karl snorted, crossing his arms. "Hmpf. " he said, seeing that his poking game had come to an end. "And he doesn't need to. Youve got the element of surprise on your side Solomon. Hed be completely vulnerable to you..." the insane man drawled, thinking of how fun it would be to get rid of said Chevalier. "Yes. His head would look good on your mantel." Karl cackled. He waved Erica away.

The Chevalier snorted at the claim. "I haven't let my loyalty to the Red Shield waiver." he replied simply, shifting his office supplies around to a comfortable position. Haji furrowed his brow, glancing down at the gorilla hand that was stretched out towards him after the man had given the Chevalier his name. Max huh? His Russian accent was noticeable, very noticeable. It would explain his rather brutish attitude, since the Russians were known for their military and often extreme ways. Haji let his crystal blue eyes evaluate the man before him, matching Maxes stare with a predatory gleam. Eventually, being the gentleman he was, Haji shook the humans hand, still evaluating him.
Haji wasn't going to lie about what he was. This man, who had obviously confirmed he was from the secret organization, had been correct when he called out his species. So why lie about it? He wasn't human, and he most definitely wasn't a Chiropteran. There was nothing to gain from such words. Well that, and the fact that Haji wouldn't lie. He was brutally honest, a trait that some found to be a bit unfavorable, and wouldn't hesitate to point out if you were wrong or correct.
(Yush, yush I did lol X3)
"I am seeing this.. Vell, I just having to be sure since killings have been linked to possible Chevalier or Chiropteran attacks in certain area." Max said simply, giving the man one of his rough handshakes. Though he didn't intentionally try to be aggressive about it, he just had a really good grip and a lack of knowledge about his strength in comparison to others.
"You vouldn't happening to be knowing about any of these killings vould you?" The Russian brute asked the clearly taller man though didn't seem to notice any height difference, to himself he was one of the tallest people around. He clasped his meaty hands behind his back as he quietly waited, he looked a bit like a marble stature because of how still and silent he could get at times.
As the sun began to set and the bustling crowd and scorching heat died down the young Half Blood decided it was time to pack up and go home. She had gotten a bit of money from her little violin playing sideshow so she could pay rent in the little cheap apartment she had on the farther side of town for another month or so. Roxy gingerly took the currency out of the case and stuck it into her tattered jean pockets and put her beloved instrument up. She sighed quietly, the sound not even audible amongst the sound of roaring car horns and shouting night party goers.
The young woman soon started down the streets, feeling a slight itch in the back of her throat slowly spreading and whetting her appetite, alerting her she needed to feed soon before the night was over. The time being the easiest when she could pull aside some random person and get her fill before fleeing back to her meek little abode.

Haji snorted, as it the question was elementary and right in front of the brutes nose. "Karl." the man said, more or less spitting the name. That twisted fiend gave Chevaliers a bad name, one that made even gentle Haji seem like a monster. He eyed Max again, wondering if the brute would realize how blind he was at that point in time and how simple the question asked had been. Obviously, Max mustve been a new recruit, otherwise he wouldve guessed Karl right off the bat...

Max's relaxed body suddenly went rigid and deadly at the mentioning of the deranged Chevalier's name. "That is vhat I vas first thinking but.. Intelligence vas having said he vas farther north... Bah! Those idiots! How they can confuse dangerous monster for regular human baffles me." He muttered, using his meaty fingers to pinch the bridge of his nose to help make his mini migraine go away.
"I am swearing this generation of people is getting stupider by the day.." Maksim growled under his breath, feeling the need to punch a wall or something close by. He probably would have if the nearest thing to him hadn't been the Chevalier. That would be the last thing he needed to do, anger one of the few creatures still on the side of the Red Shield.

Haji cocked a brow at Max's sudden realization in the fact that his guess had been right. The human certainty was different... "Agency Intelligence isn't always right... or intelligent for that matter." the Chevalier mused, stepping back a bit in case Max decided he wanted to try and use him as a punching bag. Such punches would give a sting, but it wouldn't really do much damage other then that. He quietly watched the man. It had been a while since he had come in contact with another Red Shield member. It only seemed to imply that the world wasnt as big as he thought it was.
