With a somewhat heavy heart, I turned Ares and followed the group of knights. Did fighting ever actually solve anything? Of course, I didn't vocalize my opinion- it simply wasn't done. So, with a nod towards the Skeletal Knight (whose true identity is yet a mystery to me), I set off to battle.

They rode through the desert, Esmiralda in the lead. Soon they came upon an enemy camp. She held her sword out vertically in a silent signal to attack. The charged forwards, sword drawn. The bandits had stolen horses and weapons, so they were well stocked.

I fought well, using my training. The thieves had stolen many things, including horrible weapons, so they had somewhat of an unfair advantage. Even so, I continued battling them. At one point, I felt something sink through my armor and lodge in my shoulder. With a cry of pain, I fell to my knees. A thief loomed over me, hatred burning in his eyes."You will die now." I tried to swipe his feet from under him, but he caught my leg and stepped on it, planting his booted foot there. He raised his sharp blade high over his head to strike me dead.

The Skeletal Knight noticed, and instantly had Isis gallop over, stomping on the bandit, cruel and brutal. She dismounted, quickly silencing the man with a swift upstroke of the sword.

I stared up at the Skeletal Knight in awe. Whoever he was had just saved me; a valiant soldier indeed. I nodded my thanks, then glanced at the thief through my mask.

The Skeletal Knight remounted their horse, riding on, quickly downing enemies and ending them quickly, not going to make them suffer from the pain of the first volley of strikes. Soon the bandits were all defeated, the last one receiving a silver-tipped arrow to the heart.
The Skeletal Knight lowered their bow, turning back to the army.
"Well done," she called to them, then noticed a cart leaving. It was loaded with the stolen goods. "After them!" she snarled, Isis lurching forwards, running fast. She held an arrow strung across the bow, ready to fire at will.
