Snow Mountain is a place of danger. Avalanches could fall, the clan could get snowed in. But the most worrying problem is the snow metling. Snow Mountain is dying, bit by bit. Disaster strikes when an avalanche caused by twolegs snows in the nursery den, Snowstar is left with very little choices. Which choice is the right one?

Leopardpaw, who heard such loud coughing, tracked the noise down. "No..." her voice trailed off as she found the kit, Dovekit, lay on the dusty floor, still. Very still. The medicine cat apprentice checked for a pulse in the little kit, but to no avail. Dovekit had stopped breathing. How'd this happen?????!!!, she shouted to herself. She's been alright for moons. Was she keeping a secret of some sort?, Leopardpaw shook her head, No. But, she can't just die right away after a bout of coughing.
