Tarja slipped behind the curtain near her, stood up on his hind legs, and rested his tail to look like fringes.

[Cap'n Rose]

Sapphire was a stone statue as the guard walked past.

[UzmaShroom]

Tarja quickly found it was difficult to stand on his hind paws for longer than 30 seconds, and began to sway. Just as the guard rounded a corner, Tarja collapsed on the ground, his legs shaking.

Embarrassed but quick to recompose, Tarja tossed his head, snorted, and stalked back to the slightly opened kitchen door.

Sapphire followed him quickly, ears perked up and alert.

Tarja paused for a moment his eyes adjusting to the darker kitchen. With no candelabras, the kitchen got so dark at night, the shadows seemed to form into demons.

Tarja's ears flattened and an indignant look grew on his face. It wasn't that he was scared of the dark, it was the notion that something was creeping in the darkness that made him edgy.

Sapphire's hackles stood on end and she stood, tail to tail with him, glaring at the darkness. There was something not right at all about this.

"Hm hm hm! My little pets," The echo-y voice of Murdock came from a particularly odd shaped shadow that suddenly began sliding through the darkness towards the wolves.

"You know better than to be sneaking around at night. And for food, no less. Hm," A spindly finer slid out of the shadows, before the rest of Murdock materialized before the wolves. The young lord stroked his chin as before smirking darkly, "You must be punished."

Tarja internally groaned. This was all his fault! Now Sapphire was going to be hurt for something he did!

Sapphire never liked this part. Her ears flattened to the sides of her head and her tail swept between her legs. She looked truly forlorn.

[UzmaShroom]

Murdock smirked, "Oh, come now Sapphire. Don't be this way. You know I hate it when you do that." Murdock smirked before sweeping forward, grabbing the two's scruffs and picked them up with shocking strength.

Suddenly, the three disappeared in a flash of smoke and red light.

Sapphire shut her blue-black eyes, resisting a whimper.
