[Maeras]

He didn't have to wait long.
Rey'na burst out of the door, grasping at Valkyrie desperately as the little dragon tried to escape. She managed to wrangle him into submission and hugged him hard against her chest.
"Sorry about that. He doesn't like having a bath, you see," she grinned. "And don't tell me that giving a dragon a bath is crazy! It's ridiculous how much dirt ends up between his scales."

[Tylis]

"Ha!" Loki replied. "Imagine having one with fur! But we best get going, it takes a bit to get to the training grounds." And off Loki strode, keeping up an even, brisk pace to get there on time.

[Maeras]

She hurried after him. "So what exactly are the dragons here used for? I'm only really familiar with hunting and working dragons, like my uncle uses on his farm."

[Tylis]

"Hmm..." Loki had to think. "There are many different uses, but the most common ones are to carry heavy objects over vast distances, because they are more efficient than airships. As well as used in wars for things, like setting leagues on fire and dropping heavy rocks on the enemy. I like to use them to fly on, though. It's much more exhilarating than any horse." Loki grinned, implying that he meant no harm to Rey'na's horse.

[Maeras]

"I've never been allowed to fly a dragon," she sighed. "Yet."
They finally reached the training grounds. Rey'na looked around, familiarising herself to smells of hot stone, ash, and the sulfurous smell of dragon droppings. There was a huge, dirt-covered oval, scorch-marks covering the ground.

[Tylis]

((fine, fine.))

The dragons were curled up on themselves, sleeping in amongst the shrubs around the edge of the grounds. Only the young and energetic dragons were awake, a third of the size of their parents.
"Be quitet, don't make any loud noises. You don't want to wake a dragon from it's sleep, I'll tell you that much," Loki said with a flash of a smile. And with that, they slowly crept over toward the field.

[Maeras]

"Okay then, what happens first?"
Rey'na swallowed in excitement and maybe just a bit of fear.

[Tylis]

"Well," the energised boy replied, having done this thousands of times before. "We creep up to one of the young ones, and see how they like you. If you can talk to them like you say, they should have no problem with you and wake up their parents to meet us. If that doesn't go well, then, uh, that's what I'm here for."

[Maeras]

Rey'na nodded and slowly walked over to one of the smaller dragons; a dark grey with a long muscular body and large wings.
She swallowed, then reached her thoughts out to the dragon. Rey'na expressed her happiness at meeting the youngling, and showed her that they could be friends.
The dragon responded happily. She sniffed at Rey'na, then told her, very proudly, of how she had just caught a rabbit for the first time.
Rey'na turned to Loki. "It worked!"

[Tylis]

"Really?" Loki asked quizically. "You got all that from a sniff? Well, she seems happy enough, I guess. How is she with your dragon?"
