(I'm just gonna jump in to where everybody seems to be.)
Rushing around the small galley, picking up small jars that had a thin layer of herbs and spices in the bottom, the cook had remained upon The Maiden, not wanting to leave the traditional stew alone. It had been cooking since the beginning of the voyage, dead rats and occaisionally seabirds that some member of the crew- probably Tessa-Rose- had shot being added when he had had them brought to him. No doubt the meat of many of these was well beyond tender and falling off the bones, but the bones themselves would add flavour to the stew. But it would be too meaty, so it was time to add some more spices, as he had been doing for the past three or four days.
Dipping his fingers into the dust, he lifted his finger to his mouth and nose, sniffing the spice to see if it was strong enough, before licking it off, nose wrinkling as he realised that it was slightly stale. But still good to use. Tipping the small pewter jar upside-down, the dust fell into the stew, and he repeated his task with two more before placing the jars back in their places, picking up the wooden spoon and stirring, his hair falling over his face as he looked down.
Tessa-Rose eyed the captain carefully, a scowl plastered on her face, accompanied by narrowing green eyes that were glistening of hate. She had never agreed to work for her supper, never even got to say a word. And now she had to work even harder than she did on The Maiden. No doubt her already sore hands would only get sorer, stopping her from working and thus stopping her from having any supper. But it wouldn't be smart to disobey, to disagree with the captain, so she merely stood up, crossing her arms under her chest and waiting to be told where she would be going, what exactly she would be doing. Her hands moved from their stationary positions only to brush a stray dreadlock out of the way and back over her shoulder before returning to where they had been to begin with. Stupid meal better be worth it; if it isn't, I'm goin' back to the ship and havin' somethin' there.
