This pair has probably been dragged on for too long, but this was too perfect. >________< So here is a sappy little Christmas story for you all, featuring these two~

Solstice ~ Coralina

I sat on a park bench. It was the middle of winter, Christmas Eve to be exact, and I was sitting there by myself. It was not something that I was accustomed to. I was usually there with the person I loved most, the girl that I never wanted to leave my side. I felt out of place, because I secretly knew that this was her park bench. She always told me it was our park bench, but she'd spent so much more time on it than me, so I knew that it was really her park bench that she was just sharing with me. In spite of the fact that it was her park bench and I was without her, I sat there in the dark of night, waiting for her as she'd asked me to.

You see, the two of us had quite a story. When I was a young boy, she'd killed me. I let her do it of course, but that's besides the point. By the time she'd killed me, I had sort of fallen in love with her. So when I was revived (I think that the man might have been a warlock of some sort), I forgave her without question. I wanted to see her again, but I was afraid. Afraid that maybe she just thought of me as a little boy just because of how young I acted, even though I was almost as old as her. Afraid that she wasn't really sorry that she'd killed me and would try again when she saw me. Afraid that she didn't want to see me again. And so I avoided her. One day as I'd walked through this park and past this bench. She was sitting with another male, and I was envious. But I sat and watched. I watched him tell her that he'd murdered someone who was rich and had a family. I watched her confess that she'd killed me. I watched her cry as she thought of my death. I watched her tell him that she was the only one who loved me. And as soon as he left, he walked up to me and smiled. "Your turn." he'd said simply, and I had a funny feeling that he knew I'd been there the entire time. And I was sure that he wanted me to make everything better. So I did.

I moved in with her. Her house was so much brighter than it had been the night I'd died. The black kitchen was a canary yellow, the blood red living room was a cheery pink, and her bedroom, which had probably been some gruesome colour, was now a snowy blue. Just like me. She told me that she'd changed it because she knew that it was frightening to me when I had first come to her house. It was rather flattering to know how much she'd missed me. I'd been living with her for just over a year now.

As I sat on her park bench, I contemplated the couple months. I'd been living alone in her house because she refused to see me for a reason that I didn't understand. She claimed that she 'needed a break', and was living with a friend. But I knew her only friend, and it was a boy named Ronald. I didn't like the thought of her living with another male made me absolutely furious, but I loved her too much to complain. I figured that she'd explain when she was ready. But I was missing her so much. I nearly started crying I was so happy when she called me. She'd said to meet her on our park bench on Christmas Eve around seven. Yet there I sat all alone, and by then it must have been ten or eleven.

I wondered when she was. Why was she taking so long? Where was my lady? I missed her. I craved her touch and her smile and her buttoned eyes. There was no other girl that I ever wanted to touch or hold more than her. It would always be that way; I had no doubt in my mind.

I was concerned about what she'd been doing over the past month. I hadn't seen her, hadn't gotten a call from her, hadn't even received a text message. She could have been kissing Ronald at that moment, the fact that she'd said to meet her here completely forgotten. The thought scared and angered me. It made me want to do violent things to Ronald, and that scared me even more. I wasn't violent enough to want to do violent things.

I wondered how long I had been sitting there. Three hours? More? At the very least. I was glad to have my winter fur coat and the scarf around my neck. It was rather cold out, and I would've surely froze by now if it weren't for the fluffy coat I'd grown and my scarf. I hoped that she was wearing something warm. I didn't want her to freeze, and I knew that her fur wasn't nearly as thick as mine.

I sighed. I felt so alone on her park bench. I wished that someone would sit with me. I wished she would sit with me. I wanted to know she was warm. I wanted to know she was safe. I wanted to know she was still mine.

Time passed. I waited. The clock was ticking. I still waited. I lost feeling in my toes because of the snow covering the ground. And even then I waited.

The clock bell chiming pulled me out of my trance. I counted the tills. Twelve. It was midnight. Christmas day. And still I waited for her.

I don't know how many more moments passed before I felt warm hands reach under my scarf. A sigh of please escaped my lips as the hands sent warm shivers down my spine. A rough yet tinkling laugh filled the air and she pulled her hands away. I went to turn around to look at her, but she held my head in place.

"Miss me?" she asked. I laughed as if it was a funny joke.

"Of course I did. How could I not?"

"Maybe it came to you while I was gone that I killed you."

"I've been living with you for a year. I'm kinda over that by now."

"It's Christmas morning you know."

"I heard that."

"I brought you a present."

"Don't you think it's a bit early for presents? Besides, I didn't bring yours with me."

"I don't think this present can wait."

"Fine then. If you insist."

"You have to close your eyes."

I did as I was told. She pulled my arms out, shaping them to fit my gift. Then she set something soft and heavy into my arms. I hadn't the slightest idea what it might be.

"Open your eyes, Solstice."

I opened my eyes to find myself holding a large bundle of blankets. I pulled them away near the end that she'd lifted up slightly and found a little face peering up at me. Or more, it would've been peering up at me, except the face was sleeping.

The face was blue and white, just like mine, but it was patched like hers with two big buttoned eyes.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I looked up at the girl who was standing in front of me. She had on her favourite dress and she was smiling.

"Sorry it took so long to get here. Your present came later than planned."

I looked back down at the sleeping face. "Actually, considering it's officially Christmas now, it came right on time."

The girl smiled even wider. "I do hope you like your gift. It took a lot of work to hide it for just over a month. I was glad that Ronald offered to help me."

It occurred to me that she'd been gone two months, which is how long it takes for the average dog to be pregnant for. Everything clicked together rather nicely after hearing that from her, and I felt even more guilty about being mad at Ronald. I should have trusted him more.

"So do you like your gift?"

"Actually, I love it. I don't think I could've asked for something nicer."

"I'm glad."

She sat beside me, and I wrapped my arm around her, worried about how warm she was. She snuggled into me and cooed softly at the baby. She looked up at me and we just sat there, staring at each other warmly for a moment. Then my strength broke and I leaned down to kiss her. The snow started falling around us lightly as we sat there, kissing on our park bench. Yes, it was ours now; I could tell. Our park bench.

She pulled away from me and smiled once more.

"Merry Christmas, Solstice."

"Merry Christmas, Coralina."

ruby [f] xx orla [f]

i knew who my true love was.
until you came around.

As I continued fiddling with my anniversary gift under the University tree, sniffling quietly, a young-looking girl startled me with her bright and solid colors.

Her hair was a dark coal, and her outfit style was a bit unorthidox, but I didn't dare judge. This girls accessories, which did not match together at all, must have sentimental value, or they remind this woman of something. Her elven headpeice must be a reminder, because those are extremely valueable here and rare to see.

I fix my gaze in hers, and we lock eyes. I know in my heart im holding in tears and they can't be kept any longer, but I try my best not to make a bad impression by bawling like an idiot in front of her.

She smiles and returns my gaze. "Hello," Her voice was alot lower than I had expected. "Why are you crying?"
I quickly smile and wipe my eyes, getting up slowly and tiredly. "Um... No reason, really." I reach out to shake her hand. "Im Ruby."

The girl shakes my hand and leaves it to hang afterwards. "It can't be nothing. From your clearly tear-stained, and burned, cheeks, you must have been crying roughly. There must be something wrong," She continues to argue, but I don't mind. "Im Orla."

Orla... I think, admiring her name. "Well," I say between two small sniffles. "My fiance... He went to schedule something, I think it was our wedding, but im not quite sure. He left on a plane, and... he never came.." It was too hard to bear.

Orla quietly gasped as it had just dawned on her. "...He never came back?" She asked in a whispery, low-toned voice.

"Yes.. His plane landed, yes, and everyone else survived, but he had a panick attack and freaked out before the plane could be landed safely with the instructions of a aircraft driver. He took the only parachute, jumped out of the plane, and... he opened it a bit too late. It was all over the news."

She put her arm around me. "Im so sorry, Ruby," It was comforting until she started getting a bit... well, you could say worried. "Wait, your only in university and you were getting married?"

I laughed quietly. "Yes, actually. He said he won a raffle for a private screening at a theatre, but actually he made a movie trailer - or it looked as so - as a proposal. It was.. it was magical. It was so fast, I wasn't sure. Then he flew us to Paris and proposed, with a perfect view of the dim city lights and the Ifle Tower. It was beautiful."

She smiled. "Wow. I haven't come anywhere close to be proposed to. I don't even have a boyfriend."
I wanted to end the conversation, but instead, I continued.

"Well, now I don't either..."

She is a Lab rat, I'm just a packrat. What do I do?

Coon scurried over the shelf filled with beakers, taking some food back to his nest, but stopped as a curious squeaking caught his attention. He cautiously peeked over the shelf and nearly dropped the scraps in his paws. There, sitting in a cage of the finest quality, was a beautiful Lab rat. She was looking up at him desperately and squeaked again. "Please, free me!" she begged when she saw him looking at her. He almost didn't respond, shocked such a beautiful female would even look at him. None of the others were even acnowledging he was there, though they shot the girl annoyed looks. "Please."

Should I continue? It seems kind of iffy to me :/
