Hiding was not the ideal solution Ivan could think of for this problem. There were many potential problems with hiding, being able to stay put being his biggest struggle. Yet here the man was, hesitantly moving through town with his gun held tightly and his green eyes never settling in one spot for long. Settling, focusing, losing attention to everything else around him was potentially fatal. He couldn't take the risk, even just to appreciate anything that was left living out here. He walked, stiff as he could be, eyes wide and as alert as possible. Death would not come to him today, he would do all he could to be sure of it. He had worked too hard in life to give up and let himself be killed by some undead. He at least owed it to his mother to return home safe, not disappear forever like he was sure anybody who died here would do. He sure hoped his mother and father were still safely alive back home in their cold and isolated small town. He would never know if he couldn't find a way back. There seemed to be nobody left to care for another lost life that would soon come back again anyways as a nasty monster.

A large building caught his attention longer than the rest. It wasn't a store that had the windows destroyed and everything worth anything taken. And it wasn't just another dark and scary looking skyscraper. Surely a parking garage would not be the first place for a zombie to search for humans, right? He honestly knew nothing about these undead except for the fact that he didn't want anything to do with them. With some hesitance, he moved to find a way inside. Maybe others were there, he didn't know, almost everything was silent lately. It was smarter to stay quiet as far as he knew anyways. As quietly as he could he moved inside the entrance he had discovered. A small smile came over his face as there was still some light in the building, a wonderful thing to find. He hated the dark, it was difficult to see anyone or anything coming when it was too dark. He noticed a slight smell, but a smell was better than death for sure.

He moved down a level to the basement of the building. Under ground had to be safer, and safety remained his top priority. Looking behind him, to each side, then ahead every few seconds, he hadn't relaxed one bit. Despite his habit of silence, he gave out a weak call of "Hello" before continuing. Maybe somebody was down there, he did hear some movement, and what he thought to be a voice. "Any body here?" He called slightly louder, cringing when the words weren't the clear English everyone else around here spoke. He wasn't sure whether he hoped there was another living individual in the space or not. It sure could be helpful if they were a pleasant person. If they wanted to be alone, well, Ivan would rather not have any sort of conflict with a living person since he would not leave here now that it was getting dark out. The dead were enough stress. But then most people probably wouldn't answer his call at all. Anyone who was smart would probably stay quiet and let him find them, or hide and avoid him. Who knew if he were some infected person walking down to meet them.

He didn't expect what he saw in the under ground level. It looked like someone, or a couple people, had been living there. With mattresses around and it definitely had an odd smell to it. What he more so didn't expect was the person who was down there. A small thin girl. She must have been the voice he had heard. Nobody else appeared to be around. He frowned slightly. Was there a reason the young girl was down here alone? Was she sick? Infected? He hoped not. He had come into the area behind where she was. "Hello... are you okay down here... all alone and such?" He asked, his voice again quiet and struggling some with his words. He couldn't imagine leaving the kid alone though if she wasn't sick. Especially if she was hurt or scared. He hadn't ever had much contact with children, but he didn't like to see them hurt or upset. It made him feel horrible and upset too. "Are you alone?" He asked after a little thought. Maybe the person with her had just gone off to find food. Ivan sure hoped that if there was somebody, they wouldn't come down and hurt him. He didn't want to hurt anybody.

Character; Ivan
Talking To; Avalon
Mood; Scared/Nervous
Where; Basement of the garage.

Isabella Rose

Bella felt uneasy but, in the time that had passed, uneasiness was a feeling that really never faded. She lifted a hand and clenched her chest where her heart would be. Austin.. Her brain kept rattling on and on his name, his face, his sweet and loving voice that churned in her stomach and made her sick. The other survivors vaguely irritated her and she found herself continuously becoming angry at the most irrelevant of comments until she left them. Vjera, her Tamaskan dog and only real, existing reminder of her parents, was licking her feet quietly. Bella sighed.

"Vjera.." she whispered, "do you think Austin will ever come back?" The dog lifted her head at the mention of the boy and her tail wagged half-heartedly. Soon enough, though, she realized her master had spoken his name in grief and she rested her tail upon the floor. The parking garage was cold and empty. She had her dog on a leash in fear of losing her to the walkers. A moan drifted up the staircase and she quickly pulled Vjera into a nearby abandoned car and closed the door behind them. Through misty windows she saw an image, moving swiftly and carefully about the level of concrete. A few burning embers lay on a pile of ash in the middle of boxes, where Bella had been sitting with her dog. The girl knew that it was not a walker but she did not open the doors. Anarchy was another idea to be feared in this new world, and Bella was cautious. After she and Austin were separated, she had placed a new mindset upon herself and had begun to carry herself with more care and ability. If she was ever to find Austin again, she didn't want it to be as a walker. The figure soon made its way to higher ground and the ironically clumsy duo clomped out of the car.

"I think we should go to the ground floor, Vjera. Maybe there's someone there." Bella whispered to the wolf-like dog. She pulled Vjera's leash close to her body and ran quietly about the cars to the staircase. From her backpack, she pulled a katana and strapped it to her chest for easy access. With a quiet, frightened sigh, she began her descent to whatever horrors stood below...

Austin Lehrer

Under the moonlight, a serene boy twiddled in his fingers a fancy, ivory handled revolver. Seeing it made him think of Bella's father who had, in a sense, become his own. It broke his heart knowing that the man was dead, and he was offered no redemption for his heart also ached for his beloved whom he so often feared he would never see again. Austin was perched atop an old moving truck that stood quietly outside a large parking garage. For days he had been contemplating going inside but he decided to first observe it. Tonight is the night, he thought casually. A single walker flailed about on the street next to the van and in one swift movement, Austin leaped from the roof, landed beside the walker, and slashed its head off with his sword. He slung his bag onto his shoulders and sprinted toward the garage. Something in his heart told him that he would find what he needed here.

Grace wandered aimlessly around, sightseeing everything around. "Grace! Get over here!" Kanen said roughly. His bond with Grace has grown since their arrival here. Grace skipped over to her brother after she gave a giggle from her 'Friend' Sammy saying something into her ear. "I think everyones heading to that parking lot. Lets go, it might be safe" He said as he grabbed Grace's hand and pulled her there. Along their way, they passed an infected person knawing on a dead body. It looked up at them, then returned to chew on its catch. This scene made them walk even faster until finally they reached the empty lot. Their eyes met up with many others, and so many expressions. Kanen stood a little in front of Grace, ready to defend her of any attacks. He looked behind to see a broad man close the doors right after they walked in. "I think this is the place" He said quietly to Grace, only to find her talking to he imaginary friend again. "Grace!" He said several times before getting her attention "Remember what I told you, your too old for imaginary friends! 15 is old enough!" Grace closed her mouth and lowered her head. Kanen sighed, then studied the other beings around them.

{Uhm, question. When did the apocalypse start?}

{{ nick ;

Nick opened his eyes slowly, grunting with the effort of waking up. As he came to full awareness, he realized that he was lying in something wet. Blinking in surprise, he looked down, and realized it was blood. It had to be his blood. Fighting the urge to scream, he searched around on his body and found that the blood was old--the bleeding from his wounds had stopped flowing long ago. Sighing in relief, he sat back and realized that he was sitting against a car. Where had he gone when he was last conscious? A further assessment of the surroundings told him he was in some sort of parking garage, on a relatively low floor, but not the first. He could see guard rails, and no zombies had killed him yet.
Straining with the effort, he eventually managed to stand up, leaning against the car heavily. He wanted to find others--if there were any. He wouldn't survive out here alone. Nick tried testing his legs for a moment, but he staggered as they almost gave out. His muscles were shaking with the effort of just standing up. And even worse, he was dehydrated and hungry. Nick had never felt more hollow.
Realizing that without no protection, he figured that hewould die swiftly. The zombies were most certainly coming after he had just bled out a few pints' worth of blood, and he probably couldn't even set off a grenade at this point without passing out.
Testing the car door handle, he found that by some miracle the driver had left it unlocked. Perhaps they had almost reached their car when the zombie got them. Shaking his slightly, as if to ward off bad thoughts, he bundled into the passenger seat of the grimy silver car and shut the door softly behind him, grateful for the metal and glass fortress surrounding him. Shaken and even morpe exxhausted than before, he lay in a heap in the passenger seat, too tired to move but somehow not tired enough to fal back asleep.

[[ Two weeks since the infection; unless you've been underground [like Avalon] your characters should know about it, and understand it to SOME degree; aka people come back from dead, try to eat you, bite makes you die, etc.

Will post characters first then GM [will be in red]. c: ]]

CHARLES KINSLEY

The darkness was settling in now, and Charlie found his eyes quickly adjusting to the dim lighting of the parking garage. Some sort of generator had to keep the lights on or something, but they got dimmer every so often. They flickered and it was rather annoying. The constant flickering caused any semblance of real vision to waver. He wrinkled his nose, pushing himself off the ground. The slight gap between the cement let him see out over the streets. In front of the garage it seemed mostly empty, but a sight caught his eyes. Something moving in the darkness, and suddenly it moved into the parking garage. He cursed silently under his breath, his view had not afforded him a good enough view to see whether the figure was a walker or a survivor. Grabbing his gun, he loaded it, moving down, his eyes straining in the light. It would be better to make a noise first than to be snuck up on.

"Are you bit?" he called out into the darkness; the lights seemed to dim more as he went down, hearing the dull noise of footsteps as whoever... or whatever the figure that approached was. A different noise caught his attention first and suddenly he rushed to the side, seeing a form darting into the building. What was this a party? He hadn't even encountered the first... thing yet. He braced his gun against his body, holding it up to protect him from anything that may come at him.

"Whoever you are, show yourselves." He called out into the darkness, seeing the outlines of figures appear. There was noise as well, someone talking to another. Walkers didn't talk, so that was at least promising. "Are any of you bit?" He eyes followed to the side, the dim light shining on something shiny. Blood. He sneered a bit, moving towards the source, a car. He kept his gun up just in case, mostly pointed at the group of people that had just come towards them, but was wary as he approached the car. A figure was in the car as well, and for all he knew it could be another walker. He noticed the door was closed, and gave it a quick rap. Either way, they'd find out if he was dead, alive, or undead.

[[ Speaking to: Ariana, Austin, Grace, Kanen, Nick ]]

AVALON CARADOC

Avalon was not expecting what she saw next. A figure was approaching her, and her eyes strained to make it out. "Jack?" she whispered, hoping it was him. But the person was too big and the voice which accompanied it too low and different. But at least it was someone... but Jack had always told her to not socialize with others, especially adults. She moved backwards, clutching the hem of her shirt. He asked her a question and she blinked, her eyes wide and fearful. Was she alone? Of course she was.

But apparently they were not alone as the noise of shuffling became audible, a simple groan excreting from a figure as it made it's way towards the two. Avalon's eyes once more were strained as she looked past the adult. Jack! It was him. She took a step forward. "Jack" approached, dragging one of his legs behind him as he moved towards them, mouth agape, bringing with him a foul odour. Avalon made a squeal, trying to push her way past the man standing before him, in an attempts to rush towards her "brother". The dim lighting made it hard to make out his bloodstained face, and white eyes. She was within a few paces from him when she noticed the blood, the glazed look on his face, and suddenly, instinct brought her to step back.

"Jack, Jack, you're sick..." she whimpered, as the boy reached out to grab her, mouth agape. Avalon let out a shrill shriek and she turned, leaping towards the adult who had approached her before. He wasn't covered in blood, and even though Jack had told her to never talk to adults, he was safety. There seemed to be another figure behind the walker as well, but this one stood more upright the glint of a sword shining in the light.

[[ Speaking to: Ivan, "Jack", Austin -> no worries about length, I'll usually try to match, it's just a bit weird right now. Anyways full GM post coming. ]]

GAME MASTER

Avalon's shriek had burst through the parking garage, alerting the zombies around them to the fact that there were in fact, survivors somewhere. Dragging themselves from their meals, they began to shuffle initially, sprinting as the scent of blood and humans dragged their animated corpses further. Soon a small horde of about twenty found themselves in the threshold of the parking garage. The moans and groans of the mob was loud, alerting anyone inside of the imminent danger.

They made their way into it, almost running towards the survivors, hoping to not only gain food but share the infection. Most made their way up, towards the larger group, but three straggled after the ones underground.

Skye Briht (Alone, alive, not sure where he is.)
Its a bit short, my keyboard is spazzing. Future posts will be better.

As the darkness began to arrive, Skye held back a slowly growing fear, retreating back behind the garage. He had heard sounds of people -undead or not, he wasn't sure- and had been drawn to it like a moth to a flame. Looking back on it, he would only view that as an idiotic decision on his part, and hopefully not something he would do again. For, naturally, the first humanoid shapes he had seen were undead. As a result, Skye had leapt back, tried to retrace his steps, and found himself crouched in the rubble, knife in hand. Unsurprisingly, the young boy doubted the blade would be very useful if the undead found him. Ignoring the drip of cold sweat on his forehead, Skye prepared for the worst.

"Are you bit?" When the voice, clearly human, rang through the area, Skye almost rose from his hiding spot. Hearing the sound of undead moaning, seeing the shapes keep going, he refrained. Revealing himself could be helpful, but more likely fatal. Therefor, a very bad idea, and even he knew it. So far in his short time aware of the undead going around slowly killing everyone, Skye had suffered two direct run-ins. The first, he had nearly died, and one of the two people he was with was bitten. Sadly, they hadn't realized until too late what the bite meant. Hardly two days later, the child found himself alone again. The second occurrence had similar results, and he didn't want to have a third, especially not with as many of the zombies that there seemed to be approaching. Trying to calm himself and adjust to the fading light, ad stay focused enough to react quickly, Skye rightfully felt like a sitting meal.

They were very poor and had to steal things to get by on food and shelter. But now, her family is gone and she is left with her horse Knight.
    This is Knight-

.:| Danny Wilkop |:.

She sat by herself with her gutting knife in her lap. Cyrus was beside her with his ears perked. She had heard the call too, but since it was human she felt no need to answer. Yelling only alerted the Walkers of your location, not to mention it was a bit distant. She knew from her sister that walkers ran off senses. She glanced at dog, who she barely saw in the dimming light. His eyes were locked on the entrance to the upper level. She scrunched her eyebrows in curiosity and turned to look that way. He had to hear something that she couldn't. Maybe it would be best to go and answer the voice.

She stood up slowly and pulled her gun to her side. Her thumb ran over the safety and switch and turned it off. Five cartridges were ready to go. She motioned to the dog and heard his nails click on the the cement. Her Converse made barely a sound on the floor and she advanced. Her jeans were grubby and her white cami was no longer white. Though it hardly matter since she was in the dark. Her flannel shirt was tied around her wait and her bag slung over her body. The dog stayed behind her and she stopped halfway to where she thought the voice had come from. "I'm not bit, and I assume you aren't either." Her words may sound snobby, but what did she care.

|- - > I V A N < - - |
Her voice was a quiet whisper, a hopeful response he could find some fear in as well. The simple name of "Jack" came from her mouth so quietly he could hardly hear. He was no Jack, and that name answered neither of his questions. Had the child not heard him? Or was she too scared to say anything more than the name of the companion he assumed she expected to be returning? Ivan was a large man, intimidating to most and his Russian accent and his size with horrible English knowledge anyways put him into a slightly scary stereotype from what he'd seen. He seemed to fit the dark and secretive type. The child shouldn't be scared of him though... he hadn't been harsh or mean. His question had simply been through curiosity. He frowned, almost saddened by her fear of him. He opened his mouth with an intention to give some assurance and repeat his question, but no words came out as he heard a noise behind him. Shuffling, groans, very slow shuffling. He didn't even take the time to close his mouth before turning around quickly.

There was moving towards them slowly a hungry, bloody, and foul smelling undead being. He reached into his jacket pocket, stepping back as he tried to grab his gun. He expected the child to run from the disgusting blood thirsty creature. She did quite the opposite at the same time as he moved the gun from his pocket to aim at the thing. Her squeal made him jump and cringe, his eyes wide as instead of looking for safety she ran straight at it. Straight at what could be her death. "No no! Come back here you! Dangerous! Back here! Come!" He tried to speak quick, reaching for the child as she passed him. He frowned, staring wide eyed as she continued past. There was something about the zombie that had her interested. His frown returned and he came forward quickly. Maybe it was her companion... He couldn't imagine having somebody go off to do whatever and come back like... well, dead but not really dead. It was hard enough to handle when they were actually dead and gone forever, but when they were stuck so gross... so mindlessly after the living... He couldn't even start to think of how he would ever handle that.

"No child! Come back!" She spoke to the thing. Of course this "Jack" was sick. He was already dead and trying to kill her! There would be no other reason for a zombie to be coming at them but to eat them. He reached again, this time grabbing her by the arm from behind just as the creature reached for her. He couldn't bear to see the child killed in front of him, but he didn't have to. On her own she jumped back at him with another shriek that normally would have made him cringe. He pulled her closer protectively and pulled her back away from the zombie. He had one option besides death. Shoot the thing. Kill it. But the child... He didn't want to make her see her friend killed a second time. He looked to her for a quick second. "Behind me. Stay." He instructed, again pointing his gun at the zombie named Jack. He had killed many before, protecting himself from their blood thirsty attacks. It was only necessary. This was nobody's friend, this was no human. It was a nasty thing that had no life to it. It had no thought, no emotion, no feeling. The only person who could be hurt by him shooting would be the child who had just seemed so attached. But her safety came before emotion, and he was determined to protect those in need.

Teeth clenched and eyes focused only where he was aiming, Ivan shot once at the foul creature. He looked away quickly, eyes closed and head down with a frown as he lowered the weapon to not accidentally shoot anybody who may be behind. It never once crossed his mind that he may have even missed the thing. Sure he was a good aim, but the creature had been moving and Ivan had hesitated. His gaze moved to search the girls face, his own holding a slight frown. He couldn't help feeling sorry for her. Ivan himself had lost somebody he loved, and maybe even two more people he loved. It was a horrible feeling. A lonely feeling. Helpless, he couldn't have done anything to save his brother, or this child's friend. Both had already been gone. His only hope in helping this girl, to be kind and protect her to the best of his abilities. If she would accept and appreciate it, he knew he would be able to make a difference. He would try no matter what she did.

"Okay? Are you?" Ivan asked, keeping his voice quieter and as calm as he could get it. He moved his arms to let her go, expecting that they were safe. "He was friend... yes?" The question held a quiet and sympathetic tone with a worried face. He knew it could make her emotional, but he wanted to know just who he had just shot. It was hard for him to grasp the fact that those things had been people before but in some way he still wanted to know who they had been, what they had done, who they had known. The interest was there, and in this case he could get the information. If she were willing to share. "I just want keep you safe. Just safe." He assured her, hoping her fear of him had vanished with an even worse fear having entered. Ivan himself hadn't even realized the other figure nearby, too focused on the zombie and the young girl.

"I am Ivan. Your name...?" He felt almost silly, almost forgetting names. He gave a small, friendly smile. The most he could manage in such a situation. It was short lived. A loud mix of moans and groans echoed through the concrete parking garage. More had followed. Had the creatures been able to hear them? He still hadn't figured out all that they could do. He looked to the child and grabbed her arm with some urgency. "Leave. We must leave!" He insisted, looking around for the closest exit from the structure. He couldn't even tell where the groans and moans had come from with the volume of it and the slight echo. He looked around more, this time to see what or who might come at them. If he could see them before they got close... at least there was a few seconds to aim. Being surprised was the worst Ivan could think of.
