I could say that I have 120 of them "because I counted them". I may only have 70 of them because I accidentally traded some away or miscounted because I was too excited at entering a CS world record.

Anyone needs to be able to count them at any time. That's why we can't have mixed hoard groups.

You're missing the point... SierrasGirl needs a quick and accurate way to count them to check to make sure no one is cheating. We can't just go off the word of a player and just hope it's accurate.

yeah I agree with you. Not only would it be nearly impossible to keep track of, but I see another problem...

there are soo many items in the store. Where would we begin and end? Would we have a record for most bracelets (or just a single color bracelet), bandanas, single type plushies, multiple plushies, wings, lion outfits, witch hats, tye-dye shirts, blue shirts etc etc etc... I mean we don't have a record for "most sortic dogs" or "most -insert any other litter name here-" Sooo... I guess I'm saying items are too varied and plentiful, in addition to being impossible to accurately record and track.

Just my thoughts ( I hope that made sense.. I fear I rambled a bit....)

no I'm sorry.. "theme" refers to color pattern.. such as galexy, moonswirl, etc. Your reindeer would qualify for "holiday pets" if the hoard grows enough

I don't want to have to move them to their own group, so I'm probably disqualified

How bout this as a category idea:

"Largest Parent-and-Pup Collection"

It'd be where people who have a collection of 2nd gen parents and their pups can enter. And it'd be for only a single litter. OR, it can be a combo of more than 1 litter.

Well... we already have 2nd gen records, and litter records... While it is a cute idea, I don't think it really is strong enough to create a whole new category.

Well, I wasn't planning on adding a lion category... I've been pushing them towards "holiday pets" or "litters". I've been afraid that would cause a riot of people wanting me to add dragons, owls, spiders, koi (which all could go in litter or Malk) or other similar pets. BUT lions have become sooooo popular, I suppose I ought to add them now. Please people... just remember this thread would be a disaster if you force me to add a new category for every lineart in the game.

Yeah, you all have good points. I have decided NOT to to add any item records for now, and here is why:

1) The biggest problem with items is there really isn't a solid, easy way to record /count / measure anyone's collection. Honestly, if you say "put them all on one pet", well, who really wants to spend all that money to display one pet in a record book?

2) Not to mention (as Dru said), there are just too darn many items. If I was to post a record for bracelets, I would have to post a record for every type of item. Even then, people would likely gripe about adding not only "plushies" but "white rabbit plushies", and so on.

3) This one is really just my personal opinion. Don't get me wrong, I completely support there being a $C store, and have no problem what-so-ever with people spending money there. HOWEVER, do we really need a record for "who can spend the most money on a single item type for the record book"? Well, I personally don't think it's a great idea.

So.. long story short: no item records *for now*. I'm sorry people... it just doesn't seem feasible.

I have an idea for the non-hoard category. How about "Items arranged to make another item?"

Like that holiday wreath somewhere? That thing was awesome! And you really couldn't tell that it wasn't an actual item itself.
