The Guide to Unreleased Pets & Zebras [updated 01-02-2025]

The only time you can adopt an "Unreleased/UR" pet is on the 18th of December. There is a random chance that you might get one of these pets, out of several other hundred pets being released from the same box, and you are only allowed to adopt from this box twice. This makes the "Unreleased/UR" pets Very Rare and OMG So Rare. They are highly sought after, and are very popular, making them quite difficult to trade for.

What Box ?

The box that is made available on December 18th in the Advent calender. Traditionally, a new pet is released every day during Christmas/Advent, so for that day only, the box described above is the one you'll find on the Christmas/Advent page.

It depens on the pet. Like, in '09 the UR dog started as a newborn, but in '10 the new UR dog was fully-grown.

On the 18th, is there a time limit to getting the pets like the pound? So if you don't get the boxes early all the good pets will go? XD May sound stupid, I just wanted to check!

No, the 18th box is just like the other advent boxes ;] The pets you get are random, so the timing of adoption has no effect.

No, the 18th box is just like the other advent boxes ;] The pets you get are random, so the timing of adoption has no effect.

It varies VASTLY from year to year. The first year they were exceedingly rare, but in 09, there were 8 UR pets instead of 4, 2010 brought 4 more UR pets to the mix etc. There's also a great difference on what pets are being re-released, so there is no way to answer this question.
