"Yeah, I'm a bit cocky...What's your point?"

I raised my eyebrows at Sarina. "Hmm, I never knew that my name ment that," I said. "I guess it doesn't suprise me, my father was an archer." I cross my arms across my chest, not leaving my postion by the doorway. "It's nice to meet you Sarina," I said. My eyes flickered to the Hanyou. "And it's nice to meet you as well Akane." I returned my gaze to Sarina. "Ah, I'm just going on a peremiter search. Someone's gotta see if there's more hunters and people like us out there." I smirked a little as Akane agreed with me about Sarina needing to get cleaned up. "Yeah, I know," I sighed at Akane's statement. "But like I said before, someone's gotta search the area," I scratched the back of my head before heading down the stairs.

I opened my mouth to talk, but my words were cut short by a faint, but terrible, shriek. I look over in that direction. "What the hell was that..." I knew that the one Dark Winged girl was helping me with the search. Maybe it was her in trouble? Or was it someone else she found?

17/♀/Single ♥/Fallen Angel: Affinity for Darkness

"In the darkness, there's no such thing as light."

I could tell the girl was struggling. I bit my lip nervously. Just as I was about to help her, but she screamed before I even touched her. The shriek was piercing and loud. I covered my ears and shut my eyes at the terrible sound of pain. I re-open them after the scream faded, and found a three headed dragon towering above me. I blink, shocked, but not afraid. I've never seen anything like her. "A-are you ok?" I ask, accidently choking up a little. I take a deep breath. "There's this house not to far from here, your safe there," I said, my voice sounding much stronger and more confindent than before.

"I'll get her patched up." I offered once again at Stark's comment. "I know how." I swished my tail and glanced at the quiet winged girl, Sarina. Really. If she didn't get the smell of blood off of her, who knew what would happen? I've heard that some Hunters can also track someone by their blood. I shuddered. If that were true then we had a really low chance of survival. Just then, a loud shriek filled the air. "Unh..." my wolf ears flattened against my skull as the scream raked at my sensative ears like glass over flesh. After it died away, I looked over at Stark, eye brow raised in question as I looked worriedly. "Who was that?" I asked, one eye shut in a cringe as my ears rang, but it was slowly fading away. Just then, two boys came out. They had Vampire eyes...I sensed it before it happened. "Stark!" I warned, moving to get myself between Sarina and the twin boys. The older one's pupils widened and he hissed, the blood-hunger rolling over him. Not good.

"Let's not and say we did."

The twins looked over at Len when he changed and Kole raised a brow, curious. "Not the same boy anymore, are you?" he asked, but it was more of a statement. The scream from outside made both twins jump a little, and they exchanged a look. Someone was either being attacked, was hurt or something worse. Maybe they should check it out? "Yeah." Kain nodded at his older twin. "We might be needed." he said. Kole agreed and they went outside where Stark, Akane and Sarina were. Kole tensed as his brother let out a low hiss. "Oh sh**t!" he cursed, grabbing his twin's arm. "That girl's bleeding!" he covered his own mouth and nose, shoulders starting to bulk up. He felt his fangs sliding out over his lower lip. Kain hissed again and half-lunged at Sarina, but stopped himself short, squeezing his eyes shut. "Argh..." Kole tugged his brother back and he tore his eyes away from the blood staining Sarina's clothes. No. They had to get away from her.

Len didn't hear what Kole had said. He stayed where he was.

Sarina, in spite of her dire situation, almost laughed when Akane said, "You never know what kind of creature around here there might be,". "You mean, like us." she mumbled with a bitter amusement. She was a creature. She may appear like a glimmering fairytale come to life, but the kiddies didn't know the truth about sprites. They were Gray Angels--malicious pixies with shadowy powers. At least she didn't have the dark intent that her kind had--she hadn't been a Gray since she was born as they had been. Anyways.

A shriek slit the air, seeming piercing and high enough to shatter glass. The bloodcurdling sound rattled Sarina's sensitive ears, and she simultaneously jumped and grimaced. Almost any movement involving her back or leg caused her pain. Useless, useless, weak little girl. Stark was alert, on his feet. Sarina desired desperately to go find the source of the sound, but she knew she was in no condition to do so, at least with people watching her. She didn't want to stumble or appear incapable of handling herself. She was about to speak and address both Stark and Akane when they were disrupted.

Suddenly, two boys launched themselves out the door of the house. One of them lunged at her, then stopped himself. Akane lurched protectively in front of her. Panic rose in Sarina's throat. She was lost in the commotion, wanting to hide but refusing to back down. The boys' eyes were focused on her bleeding leg. She looked down at it, then back up. She appeared stupified, but her mind was racing, putting the pieces together. Their dilated eyes, her blood-soaked clothes, their sharp incisor teeth. They fit the description perfectly. Vampyres. At least they were making an attempt to control themselves, which offered her little comfort. Everyone is trying to kill me today. Perhaps it's my time to go. she thought grimly. No matter how much she hated living this wretched existence on this cursed earth, she didn't want to die yet.

All Sarina Fray could do now was reach blindly out, her fingers brushing Stark's hand and then Akane's elbow, just to reassure her that they were still there.Just so she knew that her only maybe-possibly-but-probably-not-allies were still present. She mumbled their names and her eyes locked wit the eyes of the boy who had lunged at her. There was a question in her own sparkling blue eyes. It was not a plea, it was not a wish. It was simply a question, asking: So, what now?

"Yeah, I'm a bit cocky...What's your point?"

"That's good to know," I said with a little laugh as Akane told me she would patch Sarina up. "I got to go now," I said. I turned away from them and took a step forward, but I didn't get far. One familiar word stopped me in my path. 'Stark!' Akane's voice penetrated the air, causing me to turn instantly. I saw two boys, twins, now on the porch. Akane stood protectively between the two and Sarina. My blue eyes widen as soon as I figured out they were vampires. My mind was racing. I didn't know what to do. Should I go to the dark-winged girl where the shriek came from... or should I stay here and help Sarina and Akane? I felt Sarina's hand brush against mine and instantly I came to a conclusion. My eyes flicker to the two boys. One seemed calm, the other...not so much. "If your going to bite anyone, bite me," I growled. "Ice, come to me," I whispered and my element responded. The spine-chilling cold rushed through my veins in a burning sensation. With a wave of my hand, ice crackled to life. It started forming at the base of the vampire's feet, slowly working it's way up their legs. I left the calmer one's right leg unfrozen. He seemed much more trusting than the other. "I'm not going to call ice off until you calm down. Heh, you know, ice sure gets cold after awhile." I slowly walk back up the stairs, not letting my eyes look away frm the two. I shook my head a little. "Grab on to the humainty you still have," I said. "Don't let the vampire part of you get the best of you. Don't let it over power you enough, that your willing to kill one that's sorta like yourself in a way." I knew how to deal with vampires. My best friend was one. He and I got changed on the same day by the same man. Only difference was, I escaped the hunter, he didn't.

The wolf girl had put herself between them and the bleeding girl. Kain snarled, struggling with himself. "C'mon, back up." Kole muttered, tugging on his older twin's arm. He forced himself to take a step back, but suddenly, the wolf boy had frozen their legs in ice. Kain let out a hiss as he took in a breath, catching the smell of the girl's blood at the same time. If only they could move away five feet. It would let them calm down. They didn't have as good a smell as Vampires at that range, being only half. Kole cursed under his breath again. "Get her back!! Five feet!" he said from behind his hand, which he had clamped over his mouth and nose. His own eyes were darkening as the pupils widened, red seeping into the irises. "Five feet and we won't be able to smell her!" his voice was muffled by his hand. He jerked on Kain's arm as his twin shuddered, hunching his shoulders as he trained his eyes on the ground, telling himself not to look at the girl's blood. Not to look. Do NOT look. "Get her...back..." he managed to croak, hands clentching into fists as the blood-hunger reared it's ugly head again.

Something was different about these Vampires. Usually, Vampires have absolutly NO control when they smell blood this close. Only one thing could counter that; a mix of species. They were half of something else. Something that could battle against the Vampire part of them. When the twin who seemed to have the most control shouted at me and Stark, I glanced at the other wolf and grasped Sarina by the upper arm, pulling her up. "Over here." I said, my voice hurried, but forced calm as I led her to the opposite end of the porch. I could stay on this side with Sarina while Stark kept the twin half-Vamps on ice for a few moments. If what they said is true, then we wouldn't have to wait too long.

Sarina allowed herself to be dragged back by Akane, once again cursing herself. Her thoughts were muddled, slow, the panic of the moment slurring into a numb kind of shock, and this coupled with her dizziness from blood loss was frying her brain. Only the unimportant little wisps of thought found their way into her consciousness. Ow...blood...it's my fault... and It's kinda chilly out, isn't it? Wish I'd worn a thicker jacket...

One of the boys' words pierced through her cloudy haze of confusion. Five feet! She backed up, pressing against the banister, positive that she was more than five feet away. If she remembered how long five feet was. She gave them a numb stare, a defeated vulnerability visible in her shimmering blue eyes. She was a target. No matter how much she didn't want to be, she was an easy target. Her injuries deterred her powers, and it was hard enough to summon them in the first place. Her wing was...detained. So she could not fly to escape. Killing her would be like shooting fish in a barrel. She could almost imagine their fangs sinking into her neck, tearing away her skin, blood flowing freely from her limp body to their uncontrollable instincts. The vision made her sick, but yet...she wasn't afraid. She had no adrenaline pumping through her as she had with the hunter. She was apprehensive, unsure, but if she had to die, she would accept it and go freely.

"Yeah, I'm a bit cocky...What's your point?"

I keep my gaze fixed on the vampires. 'Get her back, five feet!' they shouted. I wasn't going to let them go just yet. Maybe I could ease up on them a little though. I comand the ice to thaw until it got down to right below their knees. There, it stay firm as cement. I look over my shoulder and see that Akane was already helping Sarina. Good. "Akane," I said. "We have to get her upstairs inside. We have to get her patched up." My eyes flickered back to the twins. "You both have to stay out here then until we get her cleaned up."

I didn't want to play leader here, but right now, that seemed like the only option. Sarina needed to get cared for, that's all what needed to happen right now. Someone had to make that happen. I was the one to step up and take control. I couldn't just be a pathetic bystandard, hoping some magical force came and made this situation all better. How many times does that happen? Zero. The air was tainted with Sarina's scent. It was all that I could smell as it over powered my enhanced sence of smell. It was almost nasueating. Sometimes, I hated being a wolf and having sharper sences. This was one of those times.
