Mosseyes nodded, sadness clouding her eyes. She padded over to Lightkit, and curled her tail arond her, trying to comfort the young kit. Lightkit sobbed into her mother's leg, as Mosseyes attempted to comfort her.

"Well we can decide later. Lets go find land!" Nightpaw said and ran off.

Thistlepaw nodded and followed after Nightpaw.

"Will she be okay?" Orangefur asked softly.

"Should we make some shelter when night falls?" Nightpaw said slowing down to catch her breath.

Mosseyes looked up at her mate, "I don't know. She's having a hard day." she said, drawing her kit closer, tears running down her own face. "Shimmerkit had such a life ahead of her." Mosseyes softly cried herself.

"Probably would be a good idea," Thistlepaw meowed.

"It could have been Lightkit who was bitten," Orangefur meowed softly.

Nightpaw smiled. "Might as well start?"

Mosseyes nodded slightly. "I wouldn't have forgiven myself." she whispered, tears rolling down her face. She burried her head into Orangefur's shoulder, shaking as tears overtook her body. "I-its my job to protect her, as a mother. I almost failed at that today." she whispered, still crying,

"Yep,"Thistlepaw meowed.

"Well nobody knew about the snake," Orangefur meowed.

Nightpaw started picking up twigs. "You find some moss." She purred softly.
