"Hey,guys wait up!" "Ha hah! I got you!" "Awww! No fair,I wasn't looking!" the excited pup's callings rang out into the night. They padded along, battering eachother playfully. One of them cried out in joy,"Look!" and pointed upwards with one paw. Snowflakes were beginning to swirl down lazily.

Pip looked over at his older sister,Niriam. She stared up at the dark night clouds, her eyes shining with wonder. He remembered that she had never seen snow before,as last winter she was cooped up inside with a fever. He frowned, guilt worming in his stomach.

"Hey..." Merry said as they stared up at the sky. "Yeah?" Pip glanced at her. "We should make a special promise... one that only we know of!" she smiled. "That's a great idea! Hey-I know! Since we all get along so well, why don't we make a promise about that?" Niriam suggested. The triplets nodded in agreement. "How about... we'll always be there for each other?" Merry asked. "Sure!" her siblings barked. "Alright! We'll always be a family, forever!"

The next morning, the pups all went to explore on their own. Of course,it wouldn't be long until they would return back home to each other. Merry headed to the forest to collect autumn leaves, Niriam went to explore the hills, and Pip went to an old abandoned mine.

It wasn't long before Merry sensed something was wrong. She sat bolt upright, her body rigid, her nose twitching. Something was definitely wrong. She dropped the leaves she had in her mouth, and dashed off in a hurry, her heart racing in fear.

"W-who are you?!" he gasped, trying to sound brave. "Me?" the creature replied cooly. He was crouched down low on a rock spur jutting out from the wall. "Eheheheh... I am Streaker, luck demon... or so I once was..." Pip backed up against the wall. He didn't like this guy one bit. "What... what are you going to do to me?" he asked. The demon swung his head towards Pip,his gaze boring into the pup. "Me? Oh,can't I just enjoy a good old exploration?" he swung his head back and let out a fierce laugh. Pip flinched, hearing the sneer embedded into it. The demon jumped off the outcropping and walked towards him. Streaker stopped, his face only inches away from this mortal's. "What am I really here for? Well, you see..."

The mocking voice of the canine rang out. Pip whimpered and slid to the floor, covering his eyes with his paws. "You know I have to do this," the voice was solemn. "No. You. DON'T!" Pip jumped up and lashed at Streaker then he dashed down the tunnel of the mine, further into the cave. "H-hey!" the demon snarled, leaning against the wall and holding the scratches across his face. "YOU GET BACK HERE!" he roared, and burst down the tunnel after the pup.

Merry ran towards the cave, her eyes wide in fear. Please don't be too late, please, please don't be too late! she begged silently, her chest heaving with exhaustion. She ran in and skidded to a halt, sending up a shower of pebbles and dirt. Gasping for air,she looked around, and yelped when she saw blood on the floor. Her eyes followed the trail. It led further down the mine shaft. She peered into the darkness, then ran down it.

That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Moonlight illuminated the courtyard. The thief ran, streaking for the gates. The king ran and stopped at his grand doors, breath coming out in short gasps. "Please don't run away! I won't hurt you!" The young girl stopped, her lips pursed as she turned, her golden eyes amused. "I've heard it all before" she mused. The king drew back, as if hurt. "Please don't leave. I have something to tell you" The girl snorted and turned, the moonlight bathing her body, lighting her blonde hair afire. "There is nothing you could tell me, just go back to your miserable castle and go-" she snapped at him but was cut short as a soft phrase drifted from his lips. "You're beautiful"
Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty
in the moonlight
overthrew you
She tied you
To a kitchen chair
She broke your throne,
she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah
The girl turned, her face shone, her golden eyes glimmered. She felt a tugging at her heart, a feeling she had never felt before. "Don't test me" she whispered, but he heard. "I test you not fair maiden, your golden eyes glimmer like the stars and your hair looks as soft as the finest silks. I have never seen anyone as beautiful as you that stand before me" A blush colored her cheeks, the girl dropped her gaze to the ground, studying the patterns of stone. His footsteps drew closer and soon the king stood before her. He reached a hand and drew her face close to his. "Never hide your face, without it I will miss the key to your heart" he smiled. The girl felt the urge to run, but she couldn't, she couldn't bring herself to run away from this man. "Thank you" The night engulfed them.
Maybe I've been here before
I know this room, I've walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew you
I've seen your flag on the marble arch
love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah
"Stop that thief! They have stolen the crown jewels! Capture her!" the cries of the soldiers only made the girl laugh more. She flew through the castle, the wind singing through her hair. She clutched the queen's crown to her chest, the jewels poking her stomach. She knew he would come, that was why she had come. The crown was just enough to get his attention. She would see him again. The only man that had ever called her beautiful. The girl stepped out into the courtyard, the sun glared down upon the earth, blanketing it in a veil of warmth. Soldiers lined up along the wall, their guns drawn and aimed, straight at her heart. She smiled, she always got away with it, why should today be any different? "Hold your fire!" the voice she so longed to hear filled the air. The king strode through the gates, atop his chestnut mare. He drew closer, his eyes soft as he gazed down at her. "Hello again, maiden"
There was a time you'd let me know
What's real and going on below
But now you never show it to me do you?
Remember when I moved in you?
The holy dark was moving too
And every breath we drew was hallelujah
The king slid from his horse and stepped towards her. "What have you done now, my fair maiden" she grinned at him and presented the glistening crown. "I stole your wife's crown. She has quite a temper" mused the girl. The king let out a bellowing laugh and touched the girl's chin, drawing up her face to his, again. "Might I just say one thing?" he asked. "Say whatever you like" she whispered, her voice melodic. He drew his lips to hers and circled his hands around her, drawing her into his body. She enjoyed the kiss while it lasted, sinking into him, melting into his embrace. He stopped the kiss and moved his lips to her ear, "I love you, but I can not. Goodbye"
Maybe there's a God above
And all I ever learned from love
Was how to shoot at someone who outdrew you
It's not a cry you can hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah
"Goodbye..?" she asked, confused. The king stepped away from her, regret filling his gaze as he turned to his soldiers. "She has stolen the crown jewels boys, what do we do with thief's?" "We kill them" came the response, the soldiers sounded elated at the prospect. The girl stepped back in surprise, shaking her head. She dropped the crown and heard it clatter to the ground. "General" the king spoke, voice faltering as he glanced at her. She turned to run and heard the gun cock. She swirled around, and met her death, seeing it in the general's eyes. The gun's firing sound filled the air and the girl felt a pain blossom in her chest. She fell backwards, staring into the sky. And as her life ebbed away and her soul broke the last thing to break was her heart, as she watched the king stalk away. She lay silent, a tear slipping down her cheek as the whole world went black.
At midnight as the Queen gazed from her window, she was shocked to see her husband in the courtyard below. There the king sat, his cheeks glistening with tears as he sat his silent vigil beside the girl. The ravens that circled about seemed to weep for the poor broken love.
Hallelujah.

Bea sighed and watched gleefully while colors burst across the dark sky as the first fireworks went off. Akuji laughed and grinned at her widely. He picked up a crumpled soda can that lay beside him and took a long sip. Another burst of fire went off above them and Bea’s eyes shined with wonder. The colors shot out from an epicenter of fire and spread across the starry sky drifting down slowly to the ocean that lay before them. The beach was crowded and people had come from all around to watch the annual fireworks. Akuji saw Bea shiver and reached over to comfort her. She was not expecting this and whirled around startled when his hand touched hers. She let out a soft “Oh,” and laughed nervously then blushed when she saw she had knocked over her soda. The brown liquid stained the sand just barely missed her jeans. Akuji quickly jumped to his feet. “I’ll get you a new one,” he offered hastily brushing a lock of silky black hair away from his deep maroon eyes. He flashed her once last smile before running off toward the seawall. Sitting in the parking lot among other cars was a large fast food truck which had come for the festivities. There was no line. Everyone was on the beach enjoying the fireworks. The only person there was an exhausted looking attendant around the age of twenty. She was flipping through a large book paying no attention to the outside world though he could tell she would have rather been on the beach with the others. Akuji sighed and looked up at the shimmering moon above him listening to the muted explosions of fireworks and cheers of teenagers behind him. He put his hands in his jean pockets for warmth as an icy breeze ripped through the calm of night. Just as he began to approach the truck something else caught his eye. It was a small patch of flowers swaying gently with the breeze. They were posies. Bea was always telling him how perfectly those flowers matched his eyes. He grinned, the soda could wait. He stepped off the little seashell paved path to see the spot where the flowers grew. Suddenly he heard screams and had only seconds to react. He heard a soft thud behind him and whirled around to see a small cardboard object that had landed by his feet. It looked like a firework, but they were supposed to be in the sky weren’t they? He immediately saw the danger, the firework was lit on the end, its wick growing shorter as if counting down the last seconds of Akuji’s life. His own scream was the last he heard before the explosion.
When he opened his eyes he had to blink a few times before realizing he wasn’t dreaming. The sun was just rising over the horizon and the sky was painted a pastel pink as it often would be in the morning. The morning. Had just one night passed? The beach was empty, so was the parking lot. The beach was spotless, not a speck off litter left from the numerous partygoers he had seen before. What happened? His head hurt. How much time had passed? Then he looked down in front of him, the only thing that seemed to still be there, a pile of posies. Their petals were wilted and a soft film of mold was growing on a few of them but they were something he recognized. They were still there, so it couldn’t have been more than one night, could it have? Yet then why were they in such a sorry state? He convinced himself that he must have just tripped and gotten a concussion or something like that, he couldn’t think clearly. Suddenly Akuji saw someone in the distance. He squinted and feared his eyes were still deceiving him, the woman looked like Bea except for she was older and… different. She looked nearly thirty and her eyes were void of emotion, the smile missing from her face. Bea looked at the small sidewalk leading from the beach to the parking lot. It was empty as always, the beach didn’t get much traffic anymore. She looked directly at Akuji though could not see him. “Here, I brought you some more flowers, they’re the same color as your eyes,” she finished breaking into tears. Akuji watched her and whispered “My eyes,” at the same time as her, as he used to. He could not tell why she was crying. He reached out to grab her arm and comfort her yet his hand went through hers and suddenly he knew. Bea wiped a tear from her cheek and looked at the posies on the ground. She had brought a new bouquet, as she did every month. She had insisted that they be left for him to find. Even though she had been told often by peers that he was gone, she could not fathom this thought and waited for the day when he would return the posies to her. She sighed softly and removed the old and crumbling flowers to reveal a plaque, it read: In loving memory of Akuji Winters 1994-2011.
(And end crummy story here XD, oops did I just break the moment? Not that there was any sort of moment to start with. I got bored and decided to find two of my CS pets to write a story on. I don’t usually do romanticish stuff but I love writing ghost stories so this just sort of came to me when I was looking at the pets, hope people like and at least understand most of it since it was really rushed. This is the result of me being bored and wanting to do something with some of my dressed up CS pets. Maybe later when I'm feeling a bit less lazy I'll make it better.)
